Alex furrowed his brow. “Us taking the initiative? How?”

Evan explained, “Axel and Ty will create software and load it onto a USB drive tomorrow. Your task is simple–insert the USB drive into Azure’s phone, and everything will become clear.”

“I understand. So, you’re asking me to get close to Azure and steal her phone data,” Alex summarized.

“That’s correct. It’s the only way to find out if she’s in contact with Daniella,” Evan affirmed.

Alex fell silent momentarily before saying, “I’ll think about what to do then.”

Evan suggested, “Aren’t you skilled in wooing women? Try using your usual tricks with her.”

He clenched his hair tightly and added, “What’s most distressing to me is that I have no idea where Paige is now!”

“I’ll help you look into this, but we’ll need to deal with things one by one,” Evan reassured.

The next morning.

Tyler and Axel sat in front of their laptops, creating the software. By noon, they loaded it onto a USB drive and handed it to Evan. He sent Reuben to deliver it to Alex.

During lunch, Liora asked Caroline, “Mommy, was Godmother framed by someone?”

Surprised, Caroline asked, “Why would you ask that, Lia?”

Liora explained, with food in her mouth, “You were talking about it in the car last night, I didn’t understand it at first, but I figured it out afterward.”

Evan interjected, “It’s true. This world has many dangers, so you need to protect yourself, Lia.”

Caroline turned to Evan, questioning, “Why do you tell her this? A child’s world should be filled with wonder.”

“Angelbay is not a peaceful place. Moreover, our social status is quite high. It’s not a bad thing for Liora to know about this,” Evan replied sternly.

“Mommy, I agree with that. Lia is too naive.” Tyler chimed in.

Caroline sighed in frustration. “This is true, but I hope you don’t have to understand the harsh realities at your age.”

“Mommy, Ty’s experience serves as a lesson. Having a good understanding will help enhance our safety.”

Caroline was at a loss for words.

In the afternoon, Evan and Neil met up at a cafe where Yuliana was already waiting.

Yuliana avoided eye contact with Evan, who sat down and asked, “Yuliana, please tell me about Scott’s situation in detail.”

Yuliana nodded and handed Evan a notepad. “Evan, I have a record of all the places Scott visited.”

Evan read through it, his frown deepening.

Neil asked, concerned, “Evan, have you noticed anything unusual?”

Evan continued to review the addresses recorded by Yuliana without speaking. Neil and Yuliana exchanged glances, and Neil was about to inquire further when Evan grabbed his phone, entered a series of numbers, and dialed promptly.
