CHAPTER 20
YSOLDE’s POV
I took a deep breath and released it into the air. I took the end of the thick blanket and put my feet under it, up to my waist. I was still leaning on the headboard of the bed in a daze. Later, I quickly raised my right palm and wiped my cheeks, which were wet with my tears earlier.
After a while, I looked at the door again when it opened, and Hideo entered again. I also looked at his hand holding a glass of water.
I couldn’t help staring at his face. The expression on his face was serious, but his anger was gone because I disobeyed his order earlier.
I just stared at him seriously until he approached the bed and placed the glass he was carrying on the bedside table.
“Drink!”
He ordered me. But I didn’t immediately move from my place.
“I said, drink, Ysolde!”
When I heard his angry voice again, I couldn’t do anything but move and pick up the glass he placed on the bedside table. I wondered why he brought me water… but in the end; I was forced to drink it too. Oh, I’m not really thirsty though, to be honest. I just told him that earlier, so I could make excuses for him. But because of the tension that happened earlier, I feel like my throat is suddenly dry with fear.
After I put the glass back on the bedside table, I returned to my seat, as I could still feel his gaze on me.
“Have you eaten?”
I still couldn’t look in his direction, but I slowly nodded in response to his question.
“Damn it, Guilherme!”
I heard him cursing firmly and let out a deep breath.
“Get some rest, Ysolde. I’ll need you later.”
Because of what he said, I couldn’t stop lifting my face to look at him. My eyebrows quickly crossed because of what he said. What did he say? What does he mean he needs me later? Is he planning to do something bad for me?
I was about to open my mouth to speak, but he spun and walked out of my room again. I was just stunned by the closed door.
BECAUSE of what Hideo said to me earlier before he left my room, I was unable to calm myself down. A lot of things are bothering my mind right now and the nervousness in my chest still hasn’t gone away. I got up from sitting on the bed and walked around the room. I’ve gone around every corner of this room, but the words Hideo said earlier still can’t get out of my mind.
I’ll need you later!
Jesus! Is it because he caught me earlier listening to his conversation with Guilherme, so he will kill me too? Maybe he’s thinking that if I manage to escape from him, I’ll report him to the police. And before he goes to jail because of the illegal activities he does, he has to kill me.
I was filled with so much fear because of that thought. I can also feel the softening of my knees.
After a while, I suddenly stopped walking and turned to the door when it suddenly opened and Hideo entered. I couldn’t stop myself from feeling so scared again when he walked towards me.
I shook my head. “N-No!” I was about to run to the other side of the bed, but he quickly grabbed me by the wrist. I screamed. “Ahhh! Please, don’t! Please, I’m sorry! Don’t kill me, please.” Suddenly, my tears flowed because of fear.
“Stop, Ysolde!”
He spoke angrily when I struggled with him.
“No! No, please! Please don’t kill me.”
“I won’t kill you.” He told me firmly as he gripped my hand. “But if you keep struggling and screaming, I might kill you now.”
I halted and stared at his face. He won’t kill me? But why is he taking me? Where will he take me? What will he do to me?
“Come here!”
He pulled me out of my room. He still didn’t let go of my hand until we got down the stairs. We got to a room under of the stairs. He opened the door, and we entered. There I saw Guilherme and a man who, I think, was in his late 60s.
Later, he let go of my hand when we were on the opposite side of the table. I looked at the desk plate that was there. I read his name there. Antonio Hideo Colombo, is that his full name?
“Let’s get started!”
I looked at Hideo again when I heard him speak.
The old man stood in front of the table, facing us.
What is happening now? I frowned and looked at Hideo again.
“W-What… what’s going on now?” I asked him.
“We’re getting married,” Hideo answered without hesitation.NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
What? My jaw and eyes almost fell to the floor because of the shock of what he said.
What did he say? I thought we were getting married next week? That’s what he said, even though I was against his decision. But what is happening now? I’m going to marry Hideo now? Then I look like this? Just wearing pajamas and slippers? Messy hair too! Jesus.
I shook my head as I backed away from where I was standing. My eyes were focused only on Hideo. I can’t even blink.
“N-No. No. No.” That was all that came out of my mouth.
I can clearly see how Hideo’s eyebrows meet even more, even the strong tension of his jaw, because of what I said.
“Come closer, Ysolde. Don’t give me a reason to be angry with you again.”
“No! I-I won’t marry you now with-”
But later, I stopped talking when he suddenly grabbed his gun tucked into his belt. I suddenly froze in my tracks when he pointed it in my direction. I was so scared, I almost lost my breath, and I almost lost my trance.
“Will you come closer to me, or will I fire the first bullet of this gun on your head?” he said firmly while staring at me.
