Warrior 229
RYN
I had to go
to my room to change into my clothes first, but as soon as I was done, I was off to the hospital.

When I arrived, I found twice the security standing outside Adam’s ward, and when I went in, I found Adam sitting up in bed with two more guards standing on either side of him.

Immediately, anger flashed through me at the unnecessary hoola–baloo, but I kept myself in check. My Uncle was just trying to be cautious and doesn’t know Adam like I did,
My friend and I exchanged smiles, but as I crossed the room to go to his bed, Dominic held me back by gripping my elbow.
I slowly turned, looking from his hand to his face. “Let me go!” I mindlinked, not wanting to disrespect him in front of
everyone.
“No.” His silver eyes hardened. “I don’t trust him.”
“But I do! He’s had my back in more ways than one. He’s not a bad guy!”
Dominic arched a brow. “The Healers ran tests on him, Kathryn. He has scars all over his body, especially his back. Seems he gets whipped occasionally. His back has been destroyed.”
I couldn’t help but look at Adam’s way. Poor thing was probably suffering because he associated himself with me. “I think his father is abusive to him. I promise, Adam is not a bad person.”
Dominic’s silver eyes searched mine for a moment before releasing my arm and taking a step back.
“Thank you.” I mouthed to him before rushing to my friend’s side. “Hey.” I said, taking his shackled hand in mine.
“Hi, Ryn.” He smiled wanly, “How’s the girl?”
“Back with her parents. How are you?”
“Now that I know the girl is okay and I get to see you? I’m ecstatic.” He smiled again, more tiredly this time. I could feel the full weight of eyes watching us, so I cleared my throat and peered into Adam’s light blue ones.
“You said you wanted to see me.”
“Yeah.” His smile faded. “Alpha Dominic has been asking for information about the rest of the families. I needed you here because I wasn’t sure if he’d kill me as soon as he gets what he wants.”
I turned my gaze on Dominic, and realized I didn’t really know him that well to decide, even though he was my uncle and mentor. “Would you kill him?” I mindlinked again.
My uncle’s gaze cut to me, stoic but sharp. “Well, his family and I have a very long history of bad blood.” He said out loud. “Besides, he technically broke into my garden one time. I still haven’t forgiven him for that.”
“I was under orders!” Adam replied.
“Don’t care.” Dominic shrugged, “Soldiers die all the time while carrying out orders. It’s nothing new.”
“Please.” I interjected. “Can we let bygones be bygones? Things have changed. Loyalties have shifted. Spare his life…. Please,
Dominic.”
My uncle returned his gaze back to my friend and folded his large biceps across his chest. “Tell me what I want to hear and I’ll consider.”

A shiver went down my spine. I turned back to Adam, who looked disturbed. He swallowed. “What do you want to know?
“Where are they?” Dominic asked.
“To be honest, I don’t know.”
Suddenly, I heard a sound, and I turned to see Dominic’s claws had come out.
Instantly, I rose to my feet. “Dominic-”
“I’m serious! I don’t know where they went!” Adam’s voice raised an octave. “They were always on the move and when they made the bounty, they were hiding out in the West. I doubt we’ll find them there again!”
“Give me the address.” Dominic demanded, and after he was given a pen and paper, Adam scribbled down the address and handed it over.
I turned to Adam. “Is it all the families that placed the bounty?” I asked, wondering how Mr. Cresswell could be complicit in
this.
Adam shook his head. “My father was the one who brought the idea, and he funded it. The Caines also helped, but Mr. Cresswell really wasn’t into it. His wife contributed though.”
Of course she did. Evil ass bitch!
“Why the bounty? They could have easily disappeared without a trace.” Dominic asked and Adam scoffed.
“Ryn is potentially now the most powerful woman in all kingdoms – Heiress to the throne of the East and Luna to the King of the West. They are afraid of what she might do.”
I glanced at Dominic. Adam doesn’t even know I am also the princess of the North.
“Any idea where their other hideouts are?” Dominic asked, and Adam shook his head.
“Because of my…‘preference‘ for Ryn, my parents didn’t trust me, so they kept me out of the loop of their future plans. I had no idea about the bounty until it was executed.”
Dominic retracted his claws and rested his hands on his waist. “We’ll run some lie detector tests and if you pass, you will be released.” Then, with a curt nod, he left the room.
I thought that was fair.
Adam and I decided to catch up on things, but I decided not to tell him that I was related to Dominic. “Did you see Sadie?”
Adam nodded. “She’s doing fine, but she’s upset about the whole running and hiding..”
“And her parents didn’t tell her why?”
“They told her you are after them because they took sides with the Caines and my family. Konan is also adding more lies to twist things. She’s really confused, but she insists on speaking to you first. She really cares about you.”
“But her parents won’t let her talk to me, will they?”
Adam shook his head, and I sighed, leaning back in my chair. I really hope this war doesn’t ruin what I have with Sadie.
After leaving the hospital, I went home and found Theon still sleeping, so I undressed down to my panties, changed into a spare shirt and lifted the covers. Now, Theon had been sleeping on his side, so I snuggled in close and he lifted his arm to accommodate me.
Just then, I heard Dominic’s voice in my head. “How about we have dinner tomorrow night? I’ll pick you up at seven.”

I smiled to myself as I replied. “I’d love that, but can I please have a phone?”
“What brand?”
“Any. As long as it works.”
“I’ll have it delivered tomorrow at noon.”
“Thank you.” I replied before falling asleep to Theon’s rhythmic heartbeats.

At some point, Theon got up to go to the bathroom, so I rolled over to the other side and then I bumped into something. Rising on my elbow, I frowned, wondering what the hell I bumped into. Then the sweet scent of vanilla and coconut candy wafted through my nostrils, and I blinked my eyes wide open.
Lying just inches away was Miro, with his hair tousled and his face serene in sleep. He was shirtless, his muscles defined in the now dim room. I looked out and discovered the sun had set.
“Miro?”
“Mhm?” He hummed, and without opening his eyes, he reached out and laid hold of my thigh, his hand subtly slipping under my shirt.
“When did you get back?”
“I don’t know.” He sighed. “Maybe an hour ago. Come here.”
Without hesitation, his hand slid to my butt and, with ease, he drew me closer to him. That’s when he opened his eyes in slits. “I’ve missed you so much.” He grumbled, his voice gruff and sensual, hinting at what he actually missed.
“Is it just me you missed or you miss what’s between my legs?”
The corners of his lips tilted up just as his forehead creased. “That’s not fair.” His possessive hand travelled from the way up to grab a breast. “I missed what’s on your chest, too.”
my ass all
An involuntary giggle escaped me just as his body shuddered with laughter. Then our amusement faded as our lips drew closer.
Kissing Miro felt like going on a road trip.
There was something spontaneous and exciting about it, like I was on a journey to uncover the wonders of the world. It was neither slow nor fast, but it was deep and demanding, taking all my focus and attention.
In one move, Miro was nestled between my legs and I closed my eyes with a satisfied smile, loving the way his hard–on rubbed against my clit. It wasn’t until I heard the bathroom door open that I remembered Theon was around. noveldrama
Instantly, my eyes snapped open and I wondered.
Is this about to be awkward?
