The woman’s voice was soft and slightly coquettish, with a hint of playfulness.
Christopher replied disdainfully. “If you want to get rid of me, just say it directly. No need to beat around

Although Cecilia couldn’t see his expression, she could guess that his eyes were filled with indulgence

The woman added, “My cooking skills have improved a lot. Hunter enjoys it very much.”
Christopher chuckled. “Are you comparing me to a dog?”

She made a surprised expression and silently asked, “Is it her?” Christopher nodded.
Samantha made a soft, tutting sound and lowered her voice. “Uncle Christopher, you are quite cu**ing.”
She could sense something was off with Uncle Christopher from their conversation. It seemed he was
using her to provoke the young lady.
So, she played along, acting coy, and said, “Don’t waste my effort. Open your mouth and take a bite,
ah.”
Seeing that Samantha had gone too far with her act, Christopher warned her with his eyes.
In response, Samantha stuck out her tongue playfully.
She thought, “Uncle Christopher looks nervous. Seeing how cautious he’s behaving, he must be
sincere.”
Then, she stood up and said, “If you don’t want it, forget it. I’ll take it home for Hunter. Wait for Mrs.
Forte to come and feed
you.
Cecilia hadn’t grasped the meaning of her words when she heard the sound of high heels approaching
from a distance.
Without hiding, she pushed the door open and entered. Samantha was dressed professionally in a suit,
appearing knowledgeable and capable.
She held a thermos and a bag as she met Cecilia’s gaze.
The girl before her was very young, beautiful, and composed, a perfect match for her Uncle
Christopher.
She extended a hand to Cecilia and greeted her with a smile.
“Hello, Ms. Yancey. I’m Samantha.”

She shook Samantha’s hand and said, “Hello, I am Cecilia.”
After the brief introduction, Cecelia let go of her hand.
She couldn’t get too close to unfamiliar people.
Samantha didn’t mind and blinked at Cecilia. “I know you. You are the person Uncle Christopher
cherishes.”
Cecilia was caught off guard again and didn’t know how to respond.
Samantha hadn’t interacted with Cecilia before and didn’t know that the latter was so reserved.
When she realized it, she said, “You two can chat. I’ll leave now. Let’s grab a meal together sometime.”
To that, Cecilia nodded. “Sure.”
After Samantha left, Cecilia walked to the bedside and put the lunch and ointment she bought on the
bedside table.
She looked at Christopher, who seemed pale in a hospital gown, and said, “I didn’t expect you to have
a good relationship with Samantha.”
After all, Christopher sent Samantha’s father to prison.
Christopher rarely shared the troubled matters of the Forte family with others. Even his close friends
knew little.
“Let’s eat first. After that, I will tell you about the Forte family.”
Cecilia merely asked casually and had no intention of prying into Christopher’s privacy.

Cecilia held back her laughter, set up the medical dining table, and put the lunch she bought on it.
Most of the dishes were easy to digest, and although they looked light, they were still appetizing.
Christopher reached out to get the fork but accidentally tugged on the wound on his arm. Thus, he let
out a soft hiss of pain. Cecilia knew he did it on purpose but didn’t expose him.
Eating with his left hand was a fundament*l skill he had acquired during his time in the Peacekeeping
Forces.
No one could guarantee they wouldn’t get injured, especially in their dominant hand.
“Don’t move recklessly. I’ll feed you.”
Christopher only wanted to see how Cecilia would react. Now that he knew, he decided to stop.
“I forgot earlier that I can use my left hand.”
With that, he took the fork in Cecilia’s hand and skillfully picked up some food to eat.
The food would turn cold if Cecilia were to feed him. He didn’t bear to let her eat the cold leftovers.
“Oh,” Cecilia replied and started to eat. However, she had her eyes on Christopher’s plate the entire
time.
As soon as he finished his food, she would serve him more to prevent him from straining his wound.
The two of them ate in silence, and the atmosphere was not awkward but somewhat warm.
After finishing the meal, Cecilia threw the leftovers into the trash can and put away the medical dining
table.

Suddenly, she realized that Christopher’s injured arm would make it difficult for him to undress himself.

The hospital gown was loose, with only a few buttons. Cecilia quickly unbuttoned it and carefully
removed the sleeve from his left arm.
Undressed, his exceptional physique came into view.

Christopher watched Cecilia’s focused and solemn expression and used his left hand to brush aside

“Ceci, the police have already obtained preliminary results regarding this morning’s incident.”
Cecilia paused for a moment before she continued applying the ointment.
“What are the results?”
“The driver and the person who wielded the knife claimed Jackson instructed them to do so. However,
it’s all hearsay without concrete evidence.”
“In reality, it was Juliana acting in Jackson’s name, right?”
Although the Yancey family didn’t like her and plotted against her, they wouldn’t go as far as wanting to
harm her life.
Only Juliana would do such a thing.

Christopher nodded. “My guess is the same as yours, but I couldn’t find a direct connection between
this morning’s incident and Juliana. But I found out that the mastermind was a man. Matthias is still
investigating it. There will be an outcome before nightfall.”
He continued, “When my men were keeping an eye on Juliana, they noticed a rowdy-looking man went
to see her. They had a lengthy conversation. These two individuals are likely the same person.”
Then, he picked up his phone, clicked on the album, found a photo of the man, and showed it to
Cecilia.
The man in the photo was the blond-haired man who had gone to the hospital previously to find
Juliana.
“Ceci, have you seen him before?”
