After Cecilia asked about the details, she said, “Jeffrey wouldn’t leave such a glaring piece of evidence.
It’s unlikely we’ll discover any poison in this plate of pasta. Tell Aiden to arrest him directly and charge

Certain medications can be beneficial when taken individually, but when combined with specific others,

Jeffrey was cautious and would likely divide the medication into two separate doses to achieve his goal
of poisoning.
The secretary, not well–versed in medical matters, naturally couldn’t grasp Jeffrey’s intentions.
He nodded respectfully. “All right, Ms. Yancey. I will convey your instructions to the commander. What
should we do with this plate of pasta then?”
“Keep it here. I want to find out what Jeffrey has added to this pasta.”
“Understood.”
The secretary left the laboratory and made his way back to the entrance of the intensive care unit,
relaying Cecilia’s message to Aiden.
Aiden didn’t issue an immediate order to capture Jeffrey.
To ensure the success of their future plans, they needed to proceed with caution when arresting
Jeffrey.
They had to find a legitimate reason for his arrest that would hold up in public.
As Aiden racked his brain for a suitable excuse, Jeffrey directly handed him the leverage he needed.
Jeffrey had a sense that Cecilia was becoming suspicious of him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have
requested another plate of pasta.
While that plate of pasta might not reveal any poison, Cecilia possessed exceptional medical skills and
could detect something amiss.
Time was running out for Jeffrey.

with blue reagents. In a hurry, he said, “Professor Farsons, you should hurry to the restroom and wash
up.”
Jeffrey nodded and proceeded to the restroom.
He got in touch with the infiltrated cleaner, providing instructions for cleaning the lab and a brief outline
of the next task.
Shortly after, Jeffrey received an affirmative response.
After Jeffrey left the restroom, two cleaners had already entered the laboratory to start the cleanup.
Jeffrey raised his wrist and checked the time.
“It’s time to record the data for a Petri dish. I’ll step inside for a moment.”
One of the laboratory technicians immediately said, “Professor Farsons, we can handle it. That pungent
gas might be toxic.”
“The gas isn’t toxic, just unpleasant to smell. I’ve been observing and recording the Petri dish’s status.
You two wouldn’t notice anything. Wait outside. I’ll be back soon.”
With that, he entered the laboratory.
One of the cleaners was in fact a member of Wolf Killer.
Jeffrey was a “shareholder” and didn’t recognize the small fry within the organization. Fortunately, there
were markers to make it easy to identify those on his side.

Jeffrey showed Cecilia the experimental data he held.
He smiled and said, “We’re getting close. All we need to do now is tweak the medication ratios.”

“Professor Farsons, you truly deserve your reputation as one of the top pharmacologists at the
Pharmaceutical Research Center. You’ve developed the antidote so quickly. Chris is going to be
okay.”
“Ms. Yancey, your medical skills are excellent as well. It’s thanks to you stabilizing Mr. Forte’s condition
that he could wait for the antidote.”
Cecilia returned the data report to Jeffrey and asked eagerly, “Professor Farsons, how long do you
estimate it will take to develop the antidote?”
“At the earliest, by tomorrow, but it depends on whether there are any

side effects. If any arise, it might take another day.”
“Just a couple more days, Chris can hold on. When he’s detoxified, he and I will make sure to express

Jeffrey shook his head. “Don’t mention it, Ms. Yancey. You’re now a shareholder in the pharmaceutical
company, and it’s only natural for me to assist you.”
After some polite exchange, Cecilia returned to her laboratory.
Shortly after, the cleaner also left.

thought.

people here?”
“I’m here to arrest you.”

“Seize him!”
Jeffrey swiftly stepped back to avoid Aiden’s men.

Aiden remained unruffled and commanded, “No one can threaten me. Arrest him!”
