Charlie put his elbows on the dining table and rested his chin on his interlocked hands as he smiled at
Cecilia.
“Cecilia, are you interested in me?”
Cecilia was not a sucker for good looks and had no prejudice against disfigured faces. However, she
would never fall in love with the little jerk who picked on her and bullied her when she was a child.
“Narcissism is also a disease. You can have it treated in the military hospital along with your face.”
Charlie ignored Cecilia’s sarcasm and said, “I heard your medical skills are pretty good. How about you
treat me?”
“I’m busy.”
Elaine felt the atmosphere was not right, so she quickly smoothed things
over.
“Let’s eat before the food gets cold.”
After saying that, she gave Charlie some stewed pork that Zachary loved
to eat.
“This is from the time–honored restaurant, Chimes Deli. It tastes as good as ever. Try it.”
Charlie looked at the stewed pork on his plate. He suppressed his discomfort and took a bite.
“It does taste the same as before, but I don’t find it that good anymore.”
Then, he put the unfinished piece of stewed pork on the side of the plate. Although it was impolite, he
might vomit on the spot if he took another bite.
Zachary loved fish and meat, while Charlie hated greasy food.

“If you don’t like stewed pork, then eat something else. Ceci is good at cooking. There have to be
dishes to your liking.”

changed a lot. You can look around if you like.”
