The True Lady Strikes Back novel (Cecilia and Christopher)

Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Juliana didn’t return to the original hospital after she had experienced being hit and instead headed to

one the Yancey family were stakeholders of.

She was the only patient residing at the VIP level.

The patients and family members who had been driven away complained about it and even exposed

the incident online. However, everyone sided with her and criticized the patients and their relatives for

being heartless, since Juliana was the poor victim in their eyes. They went so far as to accuse them of

taking advantage of the situation by accepting the hospital’s monetary recompense.

Of course, it was a trivial matter and didn’t cause too much of a

stir.

Juliana had already awoken by then.

Her face was ghastly pale and seemed like it would shatter from just a light touch due to excessive

blood loss and the terrible harm she suffered.

A deathly aura hung around her as she stared blankly at the snow-white ceiling.

Yet the hatred in her heart was burgeoning.

At the same time, she feared that the truth would be unveiled.

It was certainly not a coincidence that the journalist had appeared in the warehouse.

“Who was the person behind him? How much did they know? Could it be Cecilia or Christopher?” she

wondered.

Juliana’s body trembled uncontrollably. Her sickly features

The six members of the Yancey family who were keeping watch over her by the bedside were instantly

filled with anxiety and concern at her reaction.

Sophia held Juliana’s cold hand and asked with a pained

expression, “Julia, what’s wrong?”

Gordon’s guilty conscience was gnawing at him as he held himself back despite his urge to reach for

Juliana out of fear.

This was because men now repulsed her.

“Good girl, don’t get ahead of yourself. It’s over. Those who hurt you will soon get the retribution they

deserve.”

Juliana’s eyes refocused and gazed toward Gordon. The hatred in her eyes seemed to solidify even

further.

“If my life hadn’t been swapped mistakenly, I wouldn’t have experienced the nightmare last night. How

dare both of you call yourselves parents when you can’t even look after your

children? Retribution, you say? My life is already ruined, even if you manage to murder Cecilia! I

despise all of you, especially myself! Just let me die!”

After she said that, she suddenly got up and crashed toward the sharp edge of the nightstand.

She knew perfectly well that causing a scene and threatening to end her life would cause the Yancey

family to feel even more remorseful.

Juliana’s movements were so swift that she bumped her head before the Yancey family could react in

time.

Fortunately, Jackson pulled her back and prevented her from severely injuring herself. All she got from

pulling off such a feat was a minor swelling.

“Julia, you shouldn’t do something so foolish! Cecilia is the one

who should die!”

“Just let me die since I’m ashamed of living!”

The doorbell rang when Juliana made a scene and threatened to end herself.

Jonathan walked over with a disgruntled look when he

discovered that the guard stationed outside was the one knocking.

“What’s the matter?”

“Can’t he see that we’re all comforting Juliana? What perfect timing!” he groused internally.

The bodyguard lowered his voice. “Mr. Yancey, Cecilia is here to see Ms. Yancey.”

Jonathan clenched his fists tightly at the mention of Cecilia.

“The gall of her to show her face here. Is she trying to send Julia to her grave? Hurry up and throw her

out!”

“Cecilia asked me to convey a message to Ms. Yancey. She said there would be consequences if she This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

refused to see her.”

The bodyguard wouldn’t have dared to interrupt the Yancey’s if not for the menacing tone of Cecilia’s

statement.

Jonathan worried about whatever malicious tricks Cecilia had up her sleeves and pr**kly queried,

“What did she say?”

“Cecilia said that she already knew where Ms. Yancey was before the journalist found her.”

Jonathan kicked the door furiously at that.

“Of course, she would know where Julia was! She’s her kidnapper, after all! Isn’t she confessing her

crime of her own volition? Why not do so to the police instead of Julia if she’s so brave? What’s the

point?”

While he kept his voice low, the commotion had startled

Gordon shouted, “Jonathan, get a grip! Julia needs rest.” Jonathan took a deep breath and turned to

look at Juliana, who was frail and broken. He tried his best to make himself sound calm.

“I’m sorry, Julia. I shouldn’t have lost my temper.”

Sophia detected that his expression was off and inquired, “What happened?”

She sounded perfectly calm, likely because the Yancey family had seen its fair share of disastrous

news lately.

Jonathan was hesitant to speak.

“What in the world is going on? Is it something worse than what happened to Julia?”

Juliana had a gut feeling that it had something to do with her.

“Spit it out. Nothing can be worse than death,” she uttered nonchalantly.

Jonathan deliberated for a split second and decided to withhold the truth. “I have to deal with a problem

at the company. I’ll be back later.”

He departed the ward after that to meet up with Cecilia to figure out what she was up to.

“Does she have a video of Julia being bullied and plans to use it to threaten her?” His steps quickened

at the thought.

The bodyguard hurriedly caught up with him. “Mr. Yancey, Cecilia mentioned that Ms. Yancey is the

only one she’s willing to meet. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be responsible for the repercussions.”

Those words succeeded in making Jonathan come to a halt. “Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

He hastily turned back to the ward and revealed to Iuliona

everything Cecilia had said.

Juliana clenched her fists under her quilt.

The intense pain from her wrist wound spread to her heart as if it were being pri**ed by needles.

Before she could say anything, the Yancey family exploded.

Jackson cursed. “She sure has got some nerve to speak like that. Hasn’t she inflicted Julia enough

harm?”

“I’m going to expose Cecilia so that everyone knows how vile she is!” Jayden piped in.

Jackson said, “Call the police. We’ll file a report now and let them arrest the criminals!”

Sophia voiced out glacially, “Let her come here. We’ll bait her into revealing the truth and record

everything. We’ll send her to jail once we’ve obtained evidence of her crime!”

She bitterly regretted her actions.

Sophia thought, “I wouldn’t have wanted a daughter if I only had known what an inhumane monster I’d

given birth to!” Everyone in the Yancey family concurred with Sophia’s idea, but decided to leave the

final decision to Juliana.

“Julia, don’t be afraid. We will send Cecilia away if you don’t want to see her and will never let her hurt

you.”

Juliana had no idea how much Cecilia knew, whether she held something over her, and the intention

behind her coming over. Her eyes gleamed glacially with resentment. “How can she faze me when I

can even stare death in the face? Let her come up!”

The Yancey family didn’t voice any objections to her declaration.

They searched for a hidden spot to set up their phone and

Juliana hurriedly stopped them. “I want to see Cecilia alone!”

She didn’t want the Yancey family to hear or see whatever wasn’t intended for them.

The Yancey family was extremely worried about the way in which she seemed to plan on going down

together with Cecilia. Alas, they were afraid to go against her lest they agitated her.

“Julia, we’ll be outside the ward. Shout even if you’re ever in danger,” Sophia exhorted. After that, the

six members of the Yancey family filed out.

Cecilia was brought into the ward by the bodyguard shortly. The way in which the Yancey family stared

her down seemed like they’d feed her to the dogs.

Cecilia didn’t spare them a glance, acted as if they were invisible, and stalked straight into Juliana’s

ward.

Cecilia used her phone in the stead of the Yancey family.

She tapped on the video recording function of her phone and placed it on the nightstand before she

adjusted it to a suitable angle. She ensured that both she and Juliana were in the frame. She had to be

extremely conscientious when dealing with a deviously pretentious woman like Juliana to prevent

falling victim to her tricks once again.

Juliana refused to be recorded as she was the party in the wrong. She raised her hand arduously to

displace Cecilia’s phone but was deterred.

Cecilia looked at her with a faint smile. “Could your guilty conscience be acting up even before I uttered

a word?”
