Chapter 809
"But didn't Noelle lose her memories?" Marla asked.
"Who knows if she's truly forgotten or just pretending? But that doesn't matter because even if she has, the fact remains that Seline died saving Rosie, no?"
"That's true."
"Yet, she's now working with Hendrix to take you and Mr. Swift down. Don't you think it's wrong of her to do that?"
Marla didn't respond.
"So, will you talk to her?" Dylan pressed.
Marla frowned at him.
"It's chaotic outside now. The shareholders are screaming for Mr. Swift to take responsibility, but how could you bear to drag him into this mess when he's still lying unconscious?"
His words snapped Marla out of her daze. "You're right."
"Don't worry. I'll take care of Mr. Swift. Right now, the priority is stopping Hendrix as soon as possible."
Marla glanced at Dylan, then at the man lying in bed—Marshall still hadn't woken up.
The doctor said Marshall was out of danger, but no one could say when he would regain consciousness. Honestly speaking, Marla didn't want to leave. But Dylan wasn't wrong-stopping Hendrix now was the most urgent matter.
There was no way to compete with him in the business world anymore. The only option left was exactly as Dylan said to go through Noelle and ask her to persuade him.
There was another thing Dylan was right about-Seline was already dead, yet Noelle was letting Hendrix target the Swifts like this? What else could that be if not a betrayal?
Marla soon arrived at Roselle Court.
Noelle was indeed inside. When the household staff informed her of the visitor, she came downstairs.
She had been looking through some of her old works upstairs. Her hair was hastily tied back with loose strands framing her face.
At that moment, she stared at Marla in confusion, as if unsure why she was here.
"My, you sure do look relaxed, Mrs. Freeman, Marla said through gritted teeth. "Don't you know the world outside is in turmoil? Or do you already know and are just sitting here waiting to watch it all unfold?"
Noelle could see the hatred in Marla's eyes. After a brief hesitation, she walked up
to her. "Is there something you need?"
"Let me ask you one thing. Do you or do you not remember the past?" Marla asked impatiently.
But without waiting for Noelle to answer, she cut her off, "Whether you remember or not, you must know Seline died because of you, right? She was my only daughter, and she died saving your daughter."
She continued through gritted teeth, "I know there's no raising her from the dead,
but is this how you treat us after everything she's done for you?"
Marla was all worked up.
Noelle stood quietly, meeting her gaze for a long moment before saying, "I'mnoveldrama
sorry, but I don't involve myself in business matters."

"That's your excuse?" Marla let out a cold laugh. "So, you're saying it doesn't matter what Hendrix does to us? Whether we live or die means nothing to you?"
"I've already asked him before, and he said no one would die over-"
Before she could finish, Marla slapped her across the face. It all happened so fast that Noelle didn't even have time to dodge.
"Bitch!" Marla spat.
What do you think?
