The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 794

"Rosie's fine. I already calmed her down," Hendrix replied.

But Noelle didn't relax at his words. She continued to peek worriedly into Rosie's

room.

"Don't worry. She's already asleep," Hendrix assured her, putting his arm around her shoulders. "You've had a long day too. Go get some sleep."

Noelle didn't say anything, but the disappointment in her downcast eyes was unmistakable.

"There's an event at her kindergarten this Friday," Hendrix suddenly said. "You should go."

Her head snapped up in surprise.

"You were the one who always attended before. And if you go, Rosie will definitely be happy."

After a brief hesitation, Noelle nodded.

"Come on. Let's get some sleep."

As Hendrix led her to bed, Noelle suddenly asked him, "Can you tell me about my past?"

The question caught Hendrix off guard. "What?"

"Anything that happened in the past," Noelle said. "About Rosie or anything from before her."

Hendrix went quiet. His mind raced through their shared history. Then, he realized how little of it was worth recounting.

Noelle was still waiting for his answer. When she noticed his prolonged silence, she frowned. "Well?"

Hendrix snapped out of his thoughts and gave her a faint smile. "Why are you suddenly asking about this?"

"I want to know," Noelle said, frowning. "Besides, since I came back with you, I can't keep walking around not recognizing anyone, right?"

"There's no need for you to know those people," Hendrix replied. "Didn't you love painting? Just stay home and paint."

Noelle didn't respond. But the way her expression faded little by little was enough to show her dissatisfaction.

Hendrix pressed his lips together before asking, "What do you want to know? Can you be more specific?"

"Hmm, for example, why did we get married?"

"It's because we love each other, of course," Hendrix answered without hesitation. He didn't even bat an eye.

And he wasn't lying. No matter what had led to their marriage in the first place, the reason they were together

now

was because they loved each other. So technically, he wasn't wrong.

Noelle, however, didn't seem convinced. "But last time, you told my mom that you

weren't exactly a good husband in the beginning."

Her words made the corner of Hendrix's mouth twitch. After a brief silence, he

asked, "So you heard everything?"

"Yes."

"What else did you hear?"

"You said, I have an adoptive mother in the hospital."

"Yes."

"I want to see her."noveldrama

"Sure," Hendrix agreed without hesitation. "I'll take you tomorrow."

"I can go by myself," Noelle quickly replied, glancing at him.

That look of hers made Hendrix's scalp prickle.

"What else?" Noelle pressed.

"What?"

"Is there nothing else you need to tell me?"

"I don't even know what exactly you

want to know." Hendrix chuckled then added, "Besides, didn't the doctor say that your memory loss is due to the blood clot in your brain?

velhet

"I've already arranged for the best specialists to examine you. Once you recover, you'll naturally

remember everything. So, there's no need to rush."

Hearing that, Noelle didn't insist further.
