Chapter 565
Noelle seemed quite busy.
Dylan didn't say much, only nodding in response. Only then did Noelle turn and push open the bedroom door.
Rosie was still asleep on the bed. She looked so peaceful and soft, clearly undisturbed by the commotion outside.
Noelle crouched by her bedside, carefully tucking her in before leaving the room.
The front desk had already delivered the first aid kit. Dylan was sitting on the couch nearby, the kit open but unused.
Noelle quickly walked over. She took out an ice pack and handed it to Dylan. "Thank you," he said with a smile.
Noelle, however, pursed her lips. "I'm sorry for dragging you into my mess."
"Drag me into your mess?" Dylan was taken aback. Then, he smiled again and said, "What are you talking about? How is this your fault?"
"But-"
"Besides, didn't you also get hurt because of me before?" he asked. "And the pain you went through was much worse than this, so my little scratch is nothing."noveldrama
This was the first time Dylan had brought up what happened back then, and for a moment, Noelle didn't know how to respond.
Dylan looked at her. "Do you still blame me for that?"
"No," she answered quickly, but fearing that he might misunderstand, she added, "If I blame you, would I still be with you now?"
Finally, Dylan laughed. It was a relieved, genuine laugh. Then, he said, "Exactly. So how can you say you've dragged me into anything?"
Noelle hesitated. "What Hendrix said earlier... Aren't you worried?"
"About what?"
"I'm worried he might retaliate against you," Noelle replied. "Given his personality,
it wouldn't surprise me if he did something, so-"
"But nothing's happened yet, right?" Dylan interrupted. "Why worry about something that hasn't happened? Besides, the one who couldn't
protect you back then was theel.net'
me. Do you really think I'm still that powerless now?"
"No, that's not "
"Then, all you need to do is trust me," Dylan said with a smile, his hand gently tightening around hers.
Noelle looked down at his palm and finally said softly, "Okay."
...
Noelle had brought Rosie to
Coppersville for a follow-up. Originally, she had planned to visit Beatrice with Rosie. After all, she was Rosie's grandmother,
And during their time at Sienna Villa, Beatrice had taken great care of Rosie. Though Rosie never said it out loud, Noelle knew she missed Beatrice.
But after what happened that night, she had second thoughts. After a day of debating with herself, she decided to call Beatrice in the end.
"Why don't you come to me?" Beatrice suggested. "It just so happens that the mangoes in the yard have ripened. Didn't Rosie say she wanted to try them? "Thank you, but—"
Noelle had initially planned to meet her for a meal outside, but Beatrice seemed to read her mind.
"Don't worry," Beatrice cut in.
"Hendrix is on a business trip. Hez won't be in Coppersville for a while. Besides, it's been a long time since he's come here. You can bring Rosie over without any worries."
What do you think?
