In the end, Noelle put away the divorce papers.

The next day, she drove herself to the Swanson residence without waiting for Hendrix. The residence was slapped right at the border of downtown Coppersville and the countryside an expensive area renowned for its suburbs of villas

A maid immediately spotted Noelle right after she parked her car. The said maid did not greet Noelle. Instead, she hurried back into the house.

r way there,

Noelle saw the maid scurrying inside, but she didn't mind. She got out of the car. Before she made her way she specially bought a few gifts. After all, she was there to apologize".

The moment Noelle stepped foot in the house, the same maid who ran into the house to alert everyone showed up and smiled at her. "Ms. Noelle, you're here."

Noelle gave her a nod.

"Noelle!" Sandra hurried down the stairs in a white dress. Her curls cascaded down her shoulders. She looked ravishing with that innocent look.

Though Sandra was calling out to Noelle, her eyes searched behind her. Shock crossed her face when she realized. Noelle had come alone. "Noelle, did you drive here alone?"

"Yes." Noelle fixed her gaze on Sandra's arm. "Are you feeling better?"

"I'm fine..." Sandra tried to keep her feelings under control Soon, she changed the topic. "Mom's upstairs. She's... still a little mad. Do you want to check on her?"

"Sure," Noelle readily agreed, much to Sandra's surprise.

Before she could speak, Noelle had passed her bynoveldrama

Matilda was arranging flowers in the second-floor greenhouse when Noelle approached her. "Mom." She merely grunted in response.

"I brought you something. It's on the first floor." Noelle ignored Matilda's attitude and went ahead. "I acted rashly yesterday. Anyway, I have no clue about the specifics of the situation, so I sent someone to get the mall security footage."

Sandra, who followed tightly behind Noelle, overheard Noelle's statement right when she entered the greenhouse. Her expression shifted, and she rushed over to Noelle. "Noelle, why did you ask the mall for the security footage?"

"You were hurt, weren't you? It's only fair that we get to the bottom of it."

"But I'm fine now. There's really no need to make a fuss out of yesterday's fight." Sandra's eyes drifted to Matilda while she addressed Noelle.

This time, Matilda did not side with Sandra. She asked Noelle, "Where's the footage?

"They'll send it to me soon.

"Mom!" Sandra hurried over to Matilda. "Let's not make a fuss. Look! I'm perfectly fine. I don't want to trouble

everyone.

"It's no trouble at all," Noelle quipped. "It doesn't take much effort to ask for the security footage." Sandra finally fell silent. She stared at Noelle. "Noelle, are you suspecting me?"

Tears welled up in her eyes at the same time. She doubled down. "You think I hurt myself on purpose, didn't you?"

"I just wanted to get to the bottom of things. But why does it sound like you're admitting to the guilt?"

Sandra did not once look away from Noelle. Suddenly, she inhaled sharply and admitted, "You're right. I hurt myself on purpose yesterday."

Her candidness took Noelle aback.

However, she quickly turned to Matilda and urged her, "Mom, yell at me if you want. I fell onto the ground on purpose yesterday, but did I have any other choice?

"Noelle was fighting with Ruth. I couldn't hold any one of them back, and I was so worried that people around us might take photos of the fight and send them to the media.

"That was why I resorted to that dumb idea. Mom, I was wrong.
