Chapter 1154
Vivian actually felt uncomfortable from Lulu's stare and averted her eyes as she kept trying to slander Lulu in front of Zachary. "You can't let her stay, Mr. Slate. She's so irresponsible!" Zachary glanced at Vivian with a subtly murderous glare, growling slowly and clearly, "I won't hold back." All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Vivian flinched for some reason when she saw the look on his eyes.
Why was he giving her such a cold, scary look?
Still, she quickly assured herself that it was meant for Wendy and not herself.
"You will leave when Star is found," Zachary said just then.
"As I should," Lulu said.
Vivian was convinced she succeeded thanks to their tacit agreement, and she excused herself to go to the washroom.
There, she told her accomplice to bring Star to the nearest precinct-she could not hold on to Star forever anyway, and just having Zachary chase Wendy away was enough.
She knew that Zachary would have her head if he knew she was the one who kidnapped Star, and whatever would happen to Lulu would happen to her.
However, Vivian simply did not understand why Zachary would not do anything to Lulu even if she had actually lost Star, but whatever Vivian did to Star would end up badly for her either way.
The officer in charge informed Zachary just then, "Someone left a baby outside the precinct. Please come to confirm if she's yours."
Zachary soon received a phone call that the people he sent found Vivian's address.
Zachary told them to stay and keep watch-Vivian would definitely have left some trace after bringing Star there, and it would serve as evidence.
Everyone went to the precinct right then.
Star was asleep, but her cheeks were red and her eyes were swollen.
She had most likely worn herself out from crying.
Lulu was going to pick her up, but Zachary beat her to it.
As Lulu lowered her hands, Vivian was gloating again. "Wendy really can't even take care of a child, Mr. Slate fetting Star go missing like that. You have to punish herethe way I see it, she has to go to jail-"
Smack!
Finally having had enough, Lulu strode up to Vivian and slapped her viciously and resoundingly across the face.
Caught off guard, Vivian stared at Lulu in disbelief. "What the hell?!"
Lulu snapped viciously nonetheless, "I'll kill you if anything bad happens to Star."
Lulu's murderous glare left Vivian stumbling backward.
Still, she feigned calmness. "I'll sue! The cops are right here!"
Zachary's gaze was impassive as he stared
just Lulu's expression of raget
just as Lulu herself realized she had acted impulsive.
"I care for Star after babysitting her for so long," she quickly explained. "I'm worried, so I may have been rash." Zachary said ambiguously, "I know."
Vivian finally realized that something was wrong-should Zachary not hate Wendy?! That woman had lost Star!
That was when an officer approached them, telling Zachary, "We found the person who left your baby at the precinct."
Vivian's face paled right away,
elbet
though her plan was impossible in
the first place-leaving a child.

avoiding detection?
And now that the cops had Vivian's accomplice, it was a matter of time before she was accused!
