The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 1053

Only when the voice rang out did everyone notice someone had approached. They were all shocked. After all, their power should have detected any presence.

Their amazement doubled when they saw it was Felix who had lifted Lloyd by the throat.

"Felix! How are you still alive?"

Lloyd was the most dramatic, his eyes filled with disbelief. Then, realizing his situation, he panicked. "Help me! Help me!"

Despite consuming several pills, his body was still exhausted from using all his trump cards. He could barely move his fingers and speak more clearly than before. In every other way, he was in an utterly vulnerable situation.

Just as the other three were about to move, a crisp snap echoed. Lloyd's neck went limp as Felix casually tossed him to the ground.

"What's wrong? You're allowed to try killing me, but I'm not allowed to kill?"

Without hesitation, the remaining three masters fled. They were clever enough not to separate, running in the same direction. Otherwise, they might have lost more than one person.

Seeing their wisdom, Felix called out, "Just let them go. I'll settle this myself when the time comes."

With equal numbers, he could no longer activate Lone Paragon today, so he couldn't pursue them. Otherwise, he could have caught one or two.

Moreover, who knew if their mysterious backer might send reinforcements after such a long time without results? Better to let these three escape.

"Felix."

Deborah ran over, speechless with relief. Her precious apprentice had survived pursuit by two masters of Transcendent Realm. It was beyond unexpected, but being alive was all that mattered.

"How's your arm?"noveldrama

Ezra also came over, observing carefully. Perhaps because he saw the scorch marks on Felix's hands even after he had changed clothes.

"It's fine. I've treated it already."

At this, Felix bowed respectfully. "Thank you all for your powerful assistance."

Even someone as shameless as Shepherd shifted uncomfortably at the praise. "Are you mocking us? We didn't do anything worth calling 'powerful assistance.""

Everyone avoided asking how Felix had survived. Such circumstances surely involved secrets better left unspoken.

"Please don't say that, Mr. Ghost. If you hadn't stalled these four masters of Transcendent Realm, I could never have escaped."

This was true. Though Felix wouldn't have died if there had been even one more master, he wouldn't have foolishly fought first. He would have immediately crushed that token.

"Felix, with your intelligence, you must have figured out who's behind this, right?

Though we can't prove it, there's really no other possibility."

Hearing Deborah's words, Felix nodded. "Yes, Madam Goddard. Are you

wondering if I still plan to go to Imperial City?"

Seeing everyone look his way, Felix smiled and said, "Of course I'm going! The King has summoned me, so wouldn't it be rude not to go? As

for the person directing this play from behind the scenes, I don't think they'll act again so soon."

Ezra and the other two elders exchanged glances, understanding Felix's meaning.

They did deploy six masters to kill a

mere junior martial artist. But not

only did they fail, but they also lost half their force. Even with the royal family's backing, they would have to think carefully before acting again.

Besides, it was not that easy to look for masters of the Transcendent Realm.
