Chapter 352 Meeting Rex
“If word gets out to the media, things could get lively again. I suggest you head to the police station. as soon as possible. Don’t bother my fiancée.”
Coffey’s words were sharp and biting.
“Of course not. I’m just curious. Our cooperation has been so successful. Don’t you want to sit down and share a glass of wine?”
“I’ll pass. I just got out of the hospital and I can’t drink. Please don’t waste your time, Mr. Byron.”
She quickly opened the car door and hurried into the car.
She didn’t want to say anything more to Lamont.
Now that the plan had partially succeeded, it had to continue without hesitation.
She still needed to treat Lamont as a stranger. She couldn’t let him doubt her identity or give him.
After getting into the car, it started up, and Amelie opened the window to look at the scene outside. But her heart was heavy.
She never thought she would come to this point.
“The plan is going well. Why are you still so unhappy?” Coffey asked curiously.
Amelie didn’t reply. She didn’t get out of the car until they reached her apartment building.
“It’s nothing. I just feel that even though everything has come to an end, I’m still a little worried.”
“Worried about what?”
“I’m worried that Willard would put up a desperate fight.”
Amelie replied calmly.
“He’s still abroad. You probably don’t know this yet, but I’ve had people keeping tabs on him. I know his every move, so don’t worry.”
“Surveillance is useless. Willard is a cunning fox. He probably already has a plan. Maybe he even knows about his daughter’s arrest by now. It’ll be quite a show.”
“That’s unavoidable. Willard is a powerful man, and we have to tread carefully. Besides, the cooperation between the Aylward Group and Prosperity Global Entertainment is still ongoing.” Coffey said.
“That’s what worries me. just hope Willard follows my plan. That’s the only way it’ll work.”
At the police station, Leila sat in an interrogation room.
The officers in front of her presented evidence against her.
“No! These are all fake! They’re forged! I’ve never done any of this. I demand that you investigate thoroughly. I’ve been wronged.”
“Ms. Aylward, we’ve verified all this evidence, and it’s all true. As for your claims of being innocent, we haven’t found any evidence to support that. We ask that you cooperate with us and tell us the truth about what you’ve done. Maybe then you’ll receive leniency.”.
Leila fell silent and refused to talk.
She just sat there quietly.
Her only hope now was for her father to return and rescue her.
Abroad, Willard didn’t learn about his daughter’s arrest until the afternoon due to the time. difference.
He was frantic with worry and called his subordinates, ordering them to find a way to free Leila.
But now there was no way to keep things under wraps. The crimes Leila had committed were too serious. In addition to the previous incident where she was suspected of killing the patriarch of the Byron family, there was no way for Leila to turn things around this time.
Willard was furious when he heard the news and immediately bought the fastest ticket to rush back.
Amelie was resting in her apartment. The studio had completely given up on cooperating with the Aylward Group and instead focused on other small design projects.
This allowed Amelie to devote herself fully to confronting the Aylward Group.
She thought it would take a lot of effort, but news soon came from the police station that Leila had violated many laws and was now being prepared for trial.
Such a result proved just how grave her crimes were.
When Amelie heard the news, she was overjoyed and relieved.
“After all this time, I finally got some good news.”
She had come to the end of my hardships. If things continued like this, it would not be long before everything returned to its previous state.
Amelie checked the time. She had made an appointment with someone and planned to meet at a nearby tavern in the evening.
She changed her clothes before leaving the apartment.
Coffey had already left to attend to other matters at the company. It was his responsibility.
Amelie breathed a sigh of relief when he was finally gone.
She went downstairs, hailed a taxi, and made her way to the tavern.
As she stepped out of the taxi, she spotted a familiar figure.
It was her second brother and the one she had an appointment with. She hurried over.
“Rex! I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon. I thought I’d have to wait for you.”
Rex looked at his sister, whom he hadn’t seen in three years, with a gentle expression.
“I didn’t expect you to still be the same, except for that new mole. You’re even more beautiful now.”
“Why did you choose this place for our meeting? Aren’t you afraid someone will see us? My status isn’t ordinary now. If someone with ill intentions spots me…”
“Don’t worry. This tavern is owned by a friend of mine. There are private rooms, and no one will find out.”
“That’s good,” Amelie said, relieved.
They made their way inside and were soon seated in a private room.
The tavern was refined and elegant.
Amelie ordered a bottle of wine.
“I’ve heard that the wine here is excellent, but I’ve never had the chance to try it. Today I finally have the opportunity, and I intend to savor it.” She said happily.
“You should drink in moderation. Even though we have good news today, the road ahead won’t be easy. If anything happens, you must tell me right away. Don’t keep it to yourself, or Mom and Dad will never forgive me.”
“Don’t worry. It happens that there is something I need your help with.”
Amelie said with a mysterious smile.
What is it? knew you didn’t ask me out just because you wanted to see me.”
Amelie flashed a lovely smile.
“You know me so well. I just need your support and some money. It will take a lot of investment to keep the studio going, and I don’t have any money right now. I hope you can invest in me so I can continue pursuing my dreams.”
“This is a serious matter. No problem, I can invest as much as you Rex agreed readily, his love for his sister evident. want.” Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
