She watched him, getting angry but then she looked away, knowing that one-sided bond was affecting him too.

“Hmm. How couldn’t Alpha Nathan sense his mate in pain? Were you two marked?” He questioned.

“No. He marked me after I was pregnant with his pups which I later came to know wasn’t his.”

“I came to know from Zordy how it was told to you that you weren’t pregnant with Nathan’s pup,” Calvin said, shaking his head. “Anyway, let’s not add red chilies to your wound.” He added, brushing that topic. He couldn’t imagine the amount of insult that she would have on one of the most important days of her life.

“How could you not realize that it wasn’t your mate with whom you slept? I mean, you both might have talked about it, don’t you?” He asked.

“I did.” Ethlyn agreed. “And he told me that he was with me that night and left me in the morning when he had attended an important meeting out of the pack.”

“WHAT?” Calvin shouted in shock. Why did Alpha Nathan say that he was with her? “Tell me each and exact word of that conversation,” he said next.

FLASHBACK

Ethlyn woke up in the afternoon and found herself in the room and no one around. Her head was spinning as if she had been on a roller coaster ride for an hour. She drank the water beside her and tried to think about the last night, but everything was a blur. All she remembered was some voices. She didn’t have vivid memory after drinking shots.

She then looked at her body, and was to be so many bruises all over her body.

‘I didn’t know Nathan was this wild.’ She mentally thought, and all she could was the smell of body wash. ‘Did I take a shower after sex? Moon Goddess, why do I have no memories of last night?’ She mumbled and mindlink Nathan to know where he was.

‘Nathan, where are you? I just woke up and found that you’re not around. My head is spinning, and I’m feeling kind of sick, and the worst part is that I have no memory of last night.’

‘I’m sorry, Mate. I had to leave for another pack in the morning because of some urgent work, and I didn’t want to disturb your beauty sleep.’

‘Oh, okay!!’ Ethlyn believed him. ‘By the way, you were amazing last night. I love it.’ She said, feeling shy. She was still young and was new to everything, so she just couldn’t find the exact word to say about what she was talking about.

‘I’m glad that you loved it. And you loved this so much; then we can do this frequently, you know.’ Nathan said, on which her cheeks turned into a red tomato.

‘By the way, here is some cash. Have you left it for me so that I can reach the beginning point of her pack with the cab?’ She questioned, thinking everything on her own and smiling, thinking how thoughtful Nathan was, who kept in his mind that she didn’t have money with her and remembered to leave some money for her.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“That bastard!! He lied to you, Ethlyn.” Calvin fumed in anger at Nathan. “That money, I had left $500 for you thinking of you as a prostitute,” he added, and that was when he realized what he ended up speaking to her face.

Calvin hissed and felt guilty for not using filters before speaking when he saw Ethlyn wincing at his choice of words, “I… I’m sorry. I.. I…”

“It’s okay,” Ethlyn said, trying to hide the pain in her eyes. “Anyone else at your place might have thought in the same way. Hell, the pack members who knew me all my life didn’t think twice to call me by multiple names then; you were just a stranger who knew nothing about me.”

“Don’t be sad,” Calvin whispered softly, not liking to see her in this mood.

“Huh?”

“I mean, I don’t want Rose to see you in this state; otherwise, she will think that I’m the reason because of which you’re upset,” Calvin said sternly, not showing her his soft side. He didn’t want to fall for just her side of the story. He had to find the truth instead of believing her blindingly.

‘How to mean! And I thought… ‘She thought and sighed.

“So, you never talked about that night again with Alpha Nathan in person?” Calvin asked.

“No.” Ethlyn shook her head. “That’s why I couldn’t figure out that he lied to me. But yes, I came to know about all this a few days back when he was trying to mold our relationship. That was when he accepted that he wasn’t with me nor had anything that happened with me.”

“When I asked him where he was that night, then he didn’t have any answer about it. I even asked him whether he was with some woman then; he didn’t deny that part.” Ethlyn explained while Calvin prepared dough for Naan.

“Hmm. Do you think that he can be behind everything?” Calvin asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe or Maybe not. But he looked like he was in great pain after knowing that I cheated on him with I didn’t, obviously. I think I didn’t do anything by my own choice or willingly. Also, he recently admitted that he can’t stoop that low.” Ethlyn shared.

“Do you trust him?” Calvin asked to which Ethlyn couldn’t reply anything to him. “My brother on law says that whether there is trust or there is no trust. There is nothing in between. And looking at your confused face, the answer is clear. So, stop stressing on your mind.” He added, wondering that do people complicate things by thinking so much.
