Chapter 693
"There's only one set of jewelry, and only one person can get it. When the time comes, I'll just tell them I wanted to buy it, too. But by the time I was ready to pay, someone else had already taken it."
Steven finally let out a sigh of relief. "I can buy you a set of jewelry worth a few hundred thousand dollars."
Chloe considered it. A few hundred thousand dollars of jewelry wasn't much compared to the jadeite set, but it was still decent quality by regular standards.
She nodded. "All right. Transfer the money to me, and I'll pick something out right now."
Steven immediately started the transfer. Once Chloe left, he let out a bitter laugh.
Chloe had never truly cared about him. She didn't care why he was drinking or whether he was well. All that talk earlier was just an attempt to cozy up to him.
Steven suddenly wondered when his mother had become like this. Why was she always comparing herself to others, spending money like it was nothing?
He couldn't figure it out. It felt like, without him even realizing, everything had changed.
Willow woke up early the next morning. When I opened my eyes, I found she was already awake but hadn't gotten out of bed yet. She was lying next to me, her big, beautiful eyes staring at me.
I have to admit I felt immense joy when waking up and seeing such a cute little girl looking at me. I gently patted Willow's head and asked, "When did you wake up?"
"I just woke up a few minutes ago." She giggled and continued, "I felt so happy when I realized you were by my side. I have a mom now.
"I thought I'd let you sleep a little longer so I didn't disturb you. That way, I can spend more time with you."
I reached out and pulled Willow into my arms. "My sweet little daughter."
Willow grinned and hugged me back. After chatting for a while, we both got up. Willow went to wash up, and I returned to my room to freshen up as well.
Once we were done, Willow led us through our daily exercise routine. After we finished, we took a quick shower and sat at the breakfast table.
Breakfast was already set on the table, but Willow wasn't in a hurry to eat. Instead, she sat up straight, her expression unusually serious. "Since everyone's here, I have an important announcement to make."
I put down my fork and gave her my full attention.
"Don't eat yet. Listen to me first," Willow insisted.
Milton and Dorothy also set down their plates and forks while Zane turned to look at her.
Clearing her throat, Willow declared
solemnly, "After a long discussion and careful consideration, I've decided to approve Daddy and.
Mommy's marriage! However clos
of you have to promise me one thing."
Her expression was unusually solemn. Zane and I asked in unison, "What is it?"
Willow hesitated before saying, "Even after you two get married and have more children, you still have to treat me well."
Zane smiled and assured, "Don't worry. You'll always be my most beloved daughter."
Willow's cheeks flushed. "But you can't play favorites, okay? Otherwise, my future little brother or sister will get jealous. As an adult, you have to be fair to everyone. Got it? noveldrama
