The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Chapter 19: It's payback time

Famished as she finishes her chores, all Alexandra wanted to do was take a little nap before heading to the library to study. Alexandra walks up the stairs cornering into the hallway, and enters her bedroom, she shuts the door, falling against the bed, groaning.

Closing her eyes, she begins to gently drift off to sleep when the bathroom door opens and Adams steps into the room, all freshened up.

"Are you sleeping?"

Hearing the familiar voice sound aloud in her ears, Alexandra opens her eyes, bewildered.

"Adams, what are you doing here?"

"Sorry I was waiting for you"

"Why? Didn't I tell you to leave already? What are you still doing here?"

"Well I'm..." he smiles a little awkward "I'm hungry so how could I leave without having breakfast"

"Did I invite you over? Why should I give you breakfast and isn't it a little late for breakfast"

"I meant lunch. I'm really hungry, just give me food please"

Alexandra groans. "You're driving me crazy"

"Sorry but this isn't how to treat a guest"

Grabbing her pillow, Alexandra throws it at him. "You are a guest when you are invited. You weren't invited and your presence isn't welcomed at all. Honestly, what are you still doing here?"

"I couldn't leave since your parents were still around"

"So? If you wanted to leave, you know your way around through the back door, and what about the window"

Adams picks up the pillow and strolls to the couch, he plops down. "I'm not a thief who sneaks in through the window"

"Isn't that where you came in from last night"

"That was last night and this is another day"

Alexandra runs her hand through her hair, frustrated. "You are driving me crazy"

"Just lunch and I will take my leave plus am starving"

"You know your way around the house, make your lunch"

"I can't cook. You already know that but you are a better cook. I remember that time you made that chicken stew, the taste is still lingering in my bud"

Alexandra laughs, trying to calm her nerves. "Get out"

"I'm really hungry" he makes a puppy face "Just lunch, what could be so wrong in giving this unwanted guest of yours lunch to eat? Nothing right?"

"Lunch right and you will be gone afterward"

"Cross my heart and hope to die shall I do otherwise"

Alexandra stands up, walking out of the room with Adams trailing behind, he observes her intently as she soars down the stairs in all splendor into the living and off to the kitchen.

A faint smile creeps into Adams's face as he stares at Alexandra while she heats his food in the microwave for a long moment.

Turning around, Alexandra locks eyes with him, dropping her gaze, she takes out the food and lowers it down to the countertop. Adams takes out the cutlery and begins digging into the hot pasta.

"So hungry" He exhales

Alexandra rolls her eyes and attempts to walk away.

"Stay" he whispers

"What did you just say?" She looks at him

"Stay a little longer"

"Adam!" She raises her voice aloud "I have a mate"

"Then don't marry him"

"What the hell do you think you are trying to do? No. What do you think you're trying to achieve?"

"Nothing Alexandra, all I want is for you to be happy"

Alexandra laughs sarcastically. "I'm a werewolf, who would give me the best

happiness aside from my mate"

"Don't marry him, Alexandra, I don't feel good about him"

"You don't need to feel good or bad about him"

"I'm just been concerned"

"Keep your act of concern to yourself, I don't need it"

"Don't marry him, Alexandra"

"Adam Hawthorn, you are pushing it.

What's your problem? Who are you to tell me who I should or shouldn't marry?"

"I just Adams, the same Adams you've always known, however, I am doing this because I care about you Alexandra so please do not marry that man"

"His name is Nathaniel. Alpha Nathaniel Starkov is his name, not that man and he is my mate. My true mate"

"Isn't this whole mate thing sometimes a little barbaric to you"

"No it isn't and even if it were, is of no concern to me"

"There are many men out there, why is it Nathaniel?"

"Don't tell me, you feel threatened" she chuckled.

Adams clenches his jaw, no one intimidates him and even if they did, he would dare not show it.

"I'm not threatened by him, I would never be threatened by him, he is nothing but some scrap of an Alpha"

"Be careful with your words, the walls they say do have ears and you may not even know when the other person is close to you, listening in on your conversation"

"I'm not scared of him" Adams seethes

"No one said you are, except Is your conscience speaking"

"So in essence, you're saying that I'm scared of him"

"Why else will you be here?"

"I'm not" Adams yells

"Fine, if that makes you sleep at night"

"Are you still going to marry him?"

Alexandra scoffs, unbelievably, she had thought they were way past this stage.

"Please reject him. Don't marry him, Alexandra Guerrero"

A rush of anger runs through Alexandra's body, her heart squeezes, andnoveldrama

Alexandra molds her fist tightly. Adams has chewed more than he could swallow

in the past and hurt her and it was high time he got the taste of his own medicine.

"Kneel" she whispers and Adams quickly gets down on his knees

"Please Alexandra, don't marry him"

Alexandra smiles sinisterly, ready to set her plans in motion.

"You don't want me to marry Nathaniel right?"

Adam nods affirmatively.

"Stand up"

Adam stands up, runnings his hand through his wet. "Will you still go ahead with

it?"

"Tomorrow. I will give you my response in the woods tomorrow"

Adams smiles. "I will wait, no... I will arrive on time Alexandra.

Alexandra rolls her eyes, walks out of the kitchen, and slams the door.
