Actively trying to rope you in
Sinful: I have finished the first sample but I need you to test it and you’ll have to give feedback for further improvement or bug removal. I’ve only run a stimulation rest and so far it’s great.
Mark, who had just finished his night shower, heard his private computer go off with the special notification sound he had set for Sinful and hurriedly discarded the towel in his hand before going to check out the message she sent.
Seeing the green light beside the name, he felt somewhat excited to finally see the green light. Reading the message, he immediately got into a business mood, the fatigue he felt from the long day he had disappeared as his fingers touched the keyboard.
Alpha: I’ve prepared the hardware and other things that are needed. Testing it should not be difficult. My team will be ready to do the installation and the testing when you send it.
He replied and sighed, ‘It was a good thing I asked them to produce the hardware earlier, how are they this fast with the programming? It’s only been a week” he muttered.
Sinful: I will send the procedure for the installation. Make sure they follow every tiny bit of the instructions written on it, I left out some traps in it. The trap will be connected to the firewall software I sent to you the first time, once someone tries to hack it you will be notified.
Alpha: I will take more of that. So are you back online now? How often will you be here? Does the Waves software have an automatic upgrade function?
Sinful: I’m still a little busy for now, but I will check in once a day until the security system has been confirmed usable. Yes, the users just have to make sure their devices are connected to the internet and it will automatically upgrade.
Alpha: I just took note of the function a while ago and I was quite surprised. Then there won’t be a need for continuous checking from outside.
Sinful: A little bit of maintenance checks once a month is enough. It’s advanced software with a little bit of sentience.
Alpha: Noted. About the payment plan for this project, I’ve discussed it with the board members and you’ll be getting 30% of the profit share. You were the only one who worked on the software plan and it will only be fair if it’s viewed as a partnership. We didn’t employ you after all.
Sinful: Why do I feel you are still trying to rope me into your company, Mr Alpha?
Mark’s fingers hovered on the keyboard as he read the message over and over again. With a slight chuckle, he went back to typing out his response.
Alpha: Was it obvious? I’m still actively trying to rope you in. How is it? Did my technique work?
Sinful: Just having your company’s name on my CV is enough to rope me in from the beginning.
Alpha: Yet you still aren’t under Alpha Tech. We can increase your bonuses if the ones we’ve offered previously are not enough for you. We will give you the best conditions, even a research lab of the highest quality, if you accept to work with us.
Sinful: I don’t intend to work under any company, Mr Alpha. I like being free and doing things on my own terms. Besides, I have a big ambition and being under your company might affect me.
Alpha: …. Alright, if you say so. However, I hope you will always consider our company first with all your products.
Sinful: To be honest, only your company is developed enough to match up with my skills for now. Working with others will only bring down the real effects of my programming skills. I hope that gives you enough reassurance that I am not working for someone else.
Alpha: I’m assured. I will test this out and get back to you. I never knew you would be there fast, I was planning on testing it out with the new Watson’s mini mountain villa. Guess I will have to use some other means.

Alpha: But the Villa project hasn’t begun yet.
Sinful: ??? Then when will it begin? And how long will it take to complete the project?
Alpha: It will take us about six months. After seeing your blueprint. I noticed the tech is way more developed than the one we have now and I was expecting you to do that long before the program is finalised. With that, the villa’s construction will be completed.
Sinful: We can put the security system on hold for now then. Or we can test run it on your existing buildings, the uninhabited ones and then use it as the villa’s main security system. That will be more marketable for both the Villa and the system.
Alpha: I will discuss it with the directors and get back to you. You’ve done your part and now we will do ours. The payment contract will be sent to you, read it and let me know which you aren’t comfortable with so we can change it.
Sinful: I will be waiting for your feedback.
Lily stretched out her limbs and yawned tiredly, having stayed up all night programming and doing the daily system tasks of reading and practising her skills.

“Why? Is there something wrong?” She asked in confusion.

“There is no need for you to look into it. Didn’t I tell you, this is a competition and I want to enjoy every bit of it” Lily replied with a mischievous smirk while staring at herself in the mirror.
{If you say so. Just curious, how do you plan on dealing with them?}
“Did you forget I grew up as a rich lady in my previous life? I’ve had to go against people who are way more powerful than these kids. I wasn’t guarded against my family which is why I got played by them. You have nothing to worry about, I will serve them a taste of their food” she declared
