“ I missed hanging with you," Zed said to Carla.

“Thanks, I missed having you around as well, by the way how's work and Soraya?" She inquired.

“Work is pretty good, for Soraya I don't give a rat's ass about her." He said.

“Ah, I guess you've grown cold towards her again, when are you gonna go back to her?" She sipped

her iced tea.

“Never, ever." He added determinedly

“Hahaha, let's wait and see," Carla smirked.

“I know I messed up, but I'm changed, there's no way I am going back to Soraya Wayne." He genuinely

answered.

“So why did you drag me out here?" She inquired.

“When is Freya's birthday?" He asked out of the blue.

“It's in two days." She replied.

“Okay, cool I want to surprise her and I need your help with it." He voiced out.

“You hurt her Zed, I'm going to kill you," Carla told.

“I'd take that as a yes then." He replied scratching her neck.

“So here's the plan..." He began.

“Zed, sorry I mean Ace can you come to my office now!" She said through the buzzer.

Why was she suddenly missing Zed?

it's not as if he meant something to her. She dismissed the thoughts.

“You sent for me, how can I help?" Ace asked walking into her office.

“Get me a cup of coffee, two sugars and milk." She ordered.

“Sorry, can't do. Your secretary is here to do that job for you, I got promoted to PA remember?" He

asked.

Soraya was dumbfounded at his comment.

“Fine, then let the Secretary get me coffee I need caffeine. Remember, two sugars and milk." She

repeated as Ace gave the order to her secretary and headed to his office to do his work.

Hailey and Lex had been seeing each other for over a month now. She was happy she found a guy

who shared her interests with her and understood her. He treated her like the princess she was. As he

always told her

'You deserve to be treated like a princess, you're the best thing that ever happened to me since I

moved to college.'

“Hey, girlfriend!" Sunny said jumping on Hailey's bed.

“What's the occasion? You seem pretty excited." Hailey asked knowing full well that it was Sunny's

birthday.

“Are you kidding me right now? How can you forget the most important day of my life?!" She screamed

“ Geez! Calm your tits woman. I remember today's your birthday. I was just joking." She added rubbing

her ears.

“Oh, well you could have said so earlier." She grinned at her friend.

“Crazy child no wonder Keith is helplessly in love with you." She rolled her eyes at her.

She sent a text to Keith and Lex to get the stuff ready for Sunny's surprise party.

“Sunny, let's go shopping today just cause it's your birthday." She said to her friend.

“You know I love you right?" Sunny squealed hugging her.

“And when it's 8 pm tonight, I'm going to see Keith and take some stuff to him. I need you to escort me

there, pretty pretty please" She pouted.

“You know I can't resist your puppy face right? And damn right I'm coming with you." She smiled.

”Now get your ass up and let's prepare for shopping!" Sunny wacked Hailey's head with a pillow

earning a glare from her.

“You got the drinks? The cake? And the presents?" Keith asked his roommate for the umpteenth time

that night.

“I'm starving Hails, why didn't we get food at the mall?" Sunny bugged her friend.

“I've got to take some stuff to Keith babe, you know how whiny he can be sometimes right?" She said

applying make upon.

“But, why are you all dressy, it's Keith you gonna see right?" Sunny asked.

“Yeah, maybe we would be got out for dinner, me, you, Keith and Lex." She stated.

“You could have told me earlier," Sunny said grabbing the sexiest dress to wear.

Hailey texted Keith to get ready because they were almost at his apartment. He turned off the lights

“Why is the place dark?" Sunny asked reaching for the switch.

“Surprise!" They all screamed as the lights came on.

backyard and found him seated lost in thought.

“Babe, are you okay?" She placed her hand on his shoulder to draw his attention.

He just got up and hugged her tightly. He was just feeling emotional all of a sudden.

“It's going to be fine whatever is eating you up, you will be fine." She rubbed his back.

“Can we go back inside?" She asked after a while.

“Sure, let's go." He took her hand as they walked inside.
