Chapter 361 The Weight of Blood
Taylor's face was pale, his heart feeling as if it were on a frying pan, causing him unbearable pain and making it hard to breathe.
He could never have imagined that the sister he had been searching for all these years was Abigail, and worse yet, she was a ruthless murderer.
Listening to her recount how she had been sold to Buranda by human traffickers and later bought by Michael, he could infer the horrible things she must have endured, even though she only briefly mentioned them.
His distress was overwhelming. He hadn't been able to protect his sister, and he felt that his parents would never forgive him from heaven.
At this moment, Taylor was completely lost. He knelt in front of Abigail, apologizing and speaking in their hometown dialect, which even Abigail couldn't fully understand.
For a moment, Abigail wished she were his biological sister. Her family background was so intense it was beyond words.
Her parents, both Morians, were drug addicts. Her father had killed her mother in front of her and sold her to traffickers to fund his addiction. She later sought out her biological father, but he had already died.
Now, Taylor clutched her hand desperately, crying out his apologies. Abigail felt a mix of sarcasm and jealousy.
Yes, jealousy. Even though she had killed Anna more than a decade ago, she was still jealous of her.
She was jealous of everyone, especially Frey.
Three years ago, Frey had been so radiant. Coming from a wealthy family, she was a little princess who was the center of attention. She had everything she wanted and also had the love of Nathaniel.
Why? Why was she struggling alone in the mud while Frey stood high and mighty?
She had framed Frey relentlessly, sent people to torture her in prison, and taken her child. Only by doing this did she feel a twisted sense of pleasure. "Go! Come with me!" Taylor grabbed Abigail.
Abigail was shocked. She couldn't go with Taylor.
Otherwise, everything would be exposed. She clutched his arm and pleaded, "Please let me go!"
Koen finally sighed and said, "Abigail, I'm your brother!"
Abigail feigned surprise perfectly and then smiled bitterly, "Taylor, please let me escape. I've arranged a retreat for myself."
"I can't stay here. You know Mr. Nathaniel's methods. He won't let me go! He really won't let me go!"
Taylor stood frozen, at a loss.
He had followed Nathaniel for many years. He knew that if this mission failed and he brought Abigail back alive, Nathaniel would not be pleased.noveldrama
He was so confused that he wanted to die.
On one hand, he had finally found his long-lost sister, and on the other hand, there was Nathaniel, who had always been kind to him. It was an agonizing choice.
This time, Abigail had touched Nathaniel's reverse scale. It was not a minor mistake but an unforgivable crime.
While Taylor hesitated, Abigail broke free from his grasp and limped toward the canoe by the river.
"Abigail, I'll contact you later!"
Her voice sounded vague and uncertain in the thick night.
Taylor didn't chase her after all, because she was his sister.
He knew she deserved to die, and he also knew she had killed many people directly or indirectly. Despite her cruelty, he felt he was the one person in the world who couldn't condemn her.
When their parents died, he had vowed to take care of his sister, but now he realized how miserably he had failed. Taylor turned around blankly, watching Abigail escape to the riverbank, seeing her hide in the night in a canoe.

He even walked to the riverbank, wanting to help her keep an eye on the patrol officers. He watched her paddling hard towards the other side of the river.
