The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 111

Katrina's POV

Ethan closed the distance between us in angry steps, wrapping his hands around my neck.

This one action cutoff my airflow and I found it hard to breath, but I didn't give him that satisfaction.

"I would have moaned if you made it tighter," I mocked even though my cheeks were turning purple she to lack of oxygen.

Ethan's eyes widened and he tightened it, but 'nuff big back memories of when we were dating.

I was certain that this was the main Ethan.

"Brings back memories doesn't it?" I asked, my lips pulling into a smirk.

My hands were still tied behind my back, so I had no chance of fighting his fingers away from my throat.

Funny how Silas had pune in this position several times and I didn't find a fault in it.

Well maybe it was that he wasn't trying to kill you.

A tiny voice said in my head and I knew just how right it was.

In the next second, Ethan pushed away from me, taking a few steps away.

I coughed violently, sucking in greedy breaths. My throat felt like it was burning, and I kept breathing deeply.

"You know, next time try pulling my hair backwards,"

I didn't know how I managed to throw such remarks at him, but he knew that I was irritated by what he did.

"My dear Kat," he tutted, shaking his head.

I glared at Ethan, his smug face lit dimly by the flickering bulb above us.

I tried to tug at the ropes but my wrists burned where the ropes dug into my skin.

At this point my skin had peeled off and I had bruises, but I refused to show any sign of weakness.

If I gave him an inch, he'd take a mile-and I wasn't about to let him win. Take it as a final battle between two exes.

"I had expected you to be cowering and begging for mercy by now. It's quite a surprise to see you keeping a clear head. Well, duh.

This isn't the first time I've been kidnapped, and that time I didn't even cower in fear like some little girl.

Ethan squinted his eyes as he stared at me, his next answer surprising me.

"Don't mistake me for that weakling you call an uncle," He started and I stared at him.

My face shaay blank, perfectly hiding the nervousness I felt within me. I didn't even know how he knew that Silas wasn't treating me badly.

It further proved that someone in the house was working for Ethan. But the question now was who?

Phillip?

But it just showed that Ethan had his eyes on Silas' mafia even before the hit on him was ordered

You don't scare me Ethan,, I said, my voice steady despite the pounding in my chest.

Ethan smirked, tilting his head as he studied me. "Oh, Katrina, don't need to scare you. I just need you broken enough to serve your purpose." For some reason, my heart skipped a bit.

"You really think Silas will fall for this?" I shot back, keeping my tone sharp. "He'll kill you before you even get close."

Ethan crouched in front of me, his face inches from mine. His breath was warm, laced with a hint of stale whiskey. Always a drunk.

"Let him try. But first, I'll make sure he sees what happens when someone crosses me."This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

His hand shot out, gripping my jaw roughly. I bit down the gasp that threatened to escape, refusing to give him the satisfaction.

It's been a few years since I saw him last, but this wasn't Ethan from then. He had gotten more deadly and evil.

"Still so defiant," he mused, his tone mockingly impressed. "I'll admit, it's almost charming."

"You're nothing but a coward," I hissed. Too scared to face him head-on, so you use me instead. Pathetic." I spat out, glaring hard at him.

Ethan's smirk faltered, replaced by a flicker of anger. "Careful, Katrina. You don't want to test my patience."

"Why not? What's the worst you'll do? Choke me? Don't worry, I've been there before." I sneered, despite the knot tightening in my stomach.

His hand left my jaw, only to return with a sharp slap across my cheek. My head snapped to the side, the sting blooming across my skin.

"That," he said coldly. "And more if you don't learn to shut that pretty mouth of yours."

I forced myself to meet his gaze, my cheek throbbing. "Do your worst," I said, my voice quieter but no less defiant.

This wasn't the first time someone would be slapping me, and I didn't think it would be the last.

Silas had the habit of doing that occasionally, if you get my drift.

But Silas wasn't Ethan.

Ethan straightened, my eyes following his movements. "Oh, I intend to."

He grabbed a knife from the nearby table, the blade catching the dim light. My breath hitched as he ran the flat side of the blade along my arm, his grin widening at my reaction.

"Hold on, hold on. I don't really fancy knife play." I tried to inch away from him but that seemed to be easier said than done. With my wrist tied behind me, it was hard to move. But I think that was the main point of getting my hands tied. "See, the trick isn't in breaking bones or spilling blood. It's in the anticipation," he said, his tone eerily calm..

I clenched my teeth, determined not to give him the satisfaction of seeing my fear. "You talk too much," I said, forcing the words out

I had no idea if he actually planned on using that on me, but i was certain I had no plans of finding out...

Ethan chuckled, pressing the tip of the blade against my arm. It didn't break the skin, but the pressure was enough to make me sweat.

"Let's see if you're still so brave in a few minutes," he said softly, his smile chilling.
