Chapter 19
When I opened my eyes the light was streaming in through the windows and I was alone. Elijah's bed was wonderfully comfortable and waking up here in his arms would have been almost perfect. Waking up alone here however wasn't so great. I reached out to touch his side of the bed, it was cold and that made me feel sad.
I let out a long sigh.
I had never been in this position before. I was usually the one who cut out on my partner after a one night stand. None of them had been my mate though, I wouldn't have done that to my mate. Then again I couldn't understand why he would mark me if he didn't want to be with me.
"You are awake." Elijah said, pulling me out of my train of thought.
He was standing in the doorway holding a large tray. There were all different kinds of breakfast foods and drinks on it, there was also a single rose laid to one side. The sight of him holding that try made my heart flutter.
"I didn't want you to have to wake up alone." He said pouting.
"I am not going to lie, I thought you had gotten bored of me already." I said, giggling slightly so he knew that I was not too upset. It is amazing, just seeing him had completely overwritten my early sadness. I felt almost giddy with excitement. Elijah put the tray down on the bedside table and climbed into bed beside me. He pressed his lips against mine, kissing me until we were both breathless.
"That is never going to happen." He said before kissing me again.
"You should eat your breakfast before I decide to keep you right here with me all day." He said in between kisses.
He pulled my body so that I was sitting on his lap. He pulled the tray on top of me then proceeded to feed me breakfast. Kissing my cheek and neck in between bites of bagel and sips of coffee.
"What is this?" He asked, running his fingers over my necklace.
"My mother gave it to me." I said.
"It's beautiful, just like you." He said. He trailed his hand down my body, his fingers moved slowly and carefully over my skin. He kissed the mark that he left on my neck, sending blissful shivers down my spine. 'Fuck going to school today.' Onyx said.
For once me and my wolf were in complete agreement, going to school was the last thing that I wanted to do right now. I pushed the tray away and swivelled around in his lap so that I was straddling him. I claimed his lips with mine and pushed him down onto the bed.
"What about school?" He asked, his voice husky with desire.
"I can just catch up tomorrow." I replied.
He let out a playful growl and pulled me down on top of him, kissing me passionately. His tongue explored my mouth as my hands exploded his body.
I was just starting to remove his shirt when there was a knock on his door.
"What do you want?" Elijah growled at the closed door.
"Sorry alpha, I have been trying to get through to you but your mind link seems to be blocked." The voice behind the door complained.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes, that is because I didn't want to be disrupted." Elijah thought.

"Sorry about that. What is the problem?" He said. He was doing a reasonable job of hiding his irritation.
I started kissing his neck, moving slowly down towards his chest. He pulled me closer, I could feel his erection pressing between my legs. I could tell he was fighting the urge to tell the person behind the door to get lost. "There were some rogues trying to get into our territory." The man said.
"I am sure that you can handle it." Elijah said, turning his attention back to me.
"I did but there is something odd about them. I can't really explain it but you need to see them." The man said.
Now I was curious, what could possibly be so interesting about a group of rogues? Elijah's eyes were looking deeply into my own, I didn't have to read his mind to know exactly what was going on in his mind. He was just as interested in the rogues as I was but he didn't want to leave me alone.
"It is ok, we can finish this tonight." I suggested.
"I will hold you to that." He said.
I gave him one last lingering kiss before I removed myself from his lap and covered myself up. I didn't want the man behind the door to get a flash of my nakedness.
"I will get Felix to take you to school." He said.
He stood up and walked out of the room before I could object. Felix was the last person I wanted to see today, as if having to go to school wasn't bad enough. I wanted nothing more than to bury my head in the covers and envelop myself in my mates delicious scent.
It was incredibly tempting to just stay here all day and tell Felix I am sick. He would only tell Elijah though and I didn't want him thinking I was some needy, dependent wolf who can't cope without her mate for two seconds.
I took a few more bites of breakfast before dragging myself out of bed to get ready. Felix was already waiting for me by his car by the time I came downstairs. A smirk came across his face, the same smirk that usually preceded some kind of snarky comment but his gaze drifted to my neck and he stopped himself.
The ride to school passed by quietly, only punctuated by occasional polite conversation. That was fine by me, I had no desire for Felix to become my bestie. He was a bully and I had never really liked him. Being mated to his brother meant that we would have to tolerate each other but we didn't need to like each other.
"Shit." Felix muttered under his breath as we pulled into the car park.
I followed his gaze to where Charlotte was standing watching the cars driving in. When she recognised Felix in the driving seat she smiled. She trotted over to the car as we were parking up.
"Why won't she leave me alone." Felix muttered to himself.
As Felix stepped out of the car Charlotte tried to wrap her arms around his waist. He stepped backwards to avoid her embrace, holding his arms out in front of himself to prevent her from getting any closer.
"I told you that we weren't seeing each other anymore." He said.
"I know what you said but we are so good together." Charlotte replied.
Felix rolled his eyes.
"Look, you are not my mate. What we had was fun but that is all it ever was, a bit of fun. Now it is over now so leave me alone." He said.
He stormed off towards the school building leaving me alone with a tearful Charlotte. I felt sorry for her. I didn't think that they had been together for very long but she seemed to be very invested in their relationship. Although I couldn't for the life of me see what she liked about him.
"Don't cry over him, he's not worth it." I said as I put my arm around her shoulders. She buried her face into my shoulder and sobbed uncontrollably.
