THE LIE: DECEPTION TO THE CEO

A month later, at the Prosecutor’s mansion

Exactly one month after having asked for information about Liam Brown, a detailed report about his personal and professional life arrived to the Prosecutor. It appeared that he was married to a woman who was heiress to an immense fortune.

She was also the owner of the company he runs, which was about to declare bankruptcy due to his mismanagement. His wife has decided to leave him out of the board, in view of his irresponsible management.

In addition to this, even though nothing has been proven, he has an open investigation for alleged suspicions, with his links to one of the Pacific cartels. In addition, he has had several scandals for his extramarital affairs with women in the artistic world.

And so, the document contains a lot of information related to wastefulness and excesses of all kinds, including drug consumption. For the Prosecutor, this was not a cause of surprise, because he sensed it since the day he met him.

Once the investigation was over, the DEA representative told the Attorney General that he would act immediately, so as not to put anyone at risk. He had been on the trail of this criminal for some time, therefore, he would not let him escape.

Consequently, the prosecutor sent a message to his men, who interrupted at the mansion and took the foreigner out in handcuffs. They took him into custody, surprising everyone, especially Luz, who refused to accept reality.

In spite of the crisis that gave Luz and Sindy, the Procurador kept control of the situation. He asked the DEA agent to explain the situation to his daughters. Once he did, they fell back in their seats stunned.

The foreigner was taken to the police station where he was subjected to strong interrogation. Meanwhile, his transfer to the USA was prepared, as he was on the run, due to the investigations in his own country.

-Dad, how could you do this to me? Without telling me,” reproached Luz.

-I could not tell you anything, daughter, you were blind with him and you would have warned him,” he answered, hurt and worried. He approached her, to give her his support, hugged her and narrated everything that had been revealed to him in the report, including his marital status.

-God, how could he play with me so much,” she questioned, hurt, “I insisted, if he was single, and he swore he was. Besides, he knew perfectly well who you were because in my Facebook profile appears the emblem of the Attorney General’s Office.

-Suddenly, that’s what he was looking for, to take refuge and protect himself under my tutelage, illegally becoming my son-in-law,” added the Attorney General, “But don’t worry, he’ll be held accountable for all his crimes before justice and he won’t be able to escape.

-Waaaaa! Waaaaaaa!” Luz burst into tears.

-Why are you crying, daughter? We are sparing you from worse things or evils, for God’s sake,” her father growled, hugging her to calm her down.

Her mother, unable to understand her daughter, was amazed at her daughter’s attitude. She did not seem to care much that the man was a delinquent, but that she had fallen in love and her father had had him arrested.
