Matthew's face turned dark the moment Rafe mentioned Sophie. "You think you can even compare to Sophie?"

He froze as a thought hit him. "Wait a second... that face of yours, are you and Sophie twins?"

Rafe spat on the ground with a mocking sneer, rolling his eyes. "Twins? With her? Don't make me laugh! That worn-out face of hers doesn't even come close to my sister's looks or my flawless complexion. She wants to be our sister? Keep dreaming!"

Technically, Sophie was a few months older than Eliza and Rafe, but their father had forced her into the role of the youngest to cover up her illegitimacy.

If Eliza had been born on her original due date, she would've been half a month younger than Rafe.

Rafe, being his shameless self, insisted on considering Eliza "big sister" even though she initially refused. Eventually, she gave up arguing with him.

"Then why do you look so much like Sophie?"

Matthew frowned, his anger giving way to shock as he scrutinized Rafe's face. The more he looked, the more furious he became. 'No need for a DNA test-just look at that face! There's no way he's not Dad's illegitimate son!'

"None of your business," Rafe snorted.

Seeing Matthew clench his fists and glare at him like he wanted to kill, Rafe smirked and raised an eyebrow. "What's the matter? Thinking about throwing a punch?"

Matthew's icy glare sharpened. "You think I won't?"

"Go ahead, try me."

Rafe's smirk disappeared, replaced by a cold, murderous glare as he locked eyes with Matthew.

He muttered under his breath, too low for Matthew to hear: "Not like it'd be my first

time."

Killing one or two didn't make a difference.

The real question was, would Sophie be mad if I killed him here? Cleaning up would be such a hassle.

Especially when it's right in front of her doorstep..

The butler nodded with a smile. He had been specifically sent by Eliza to step in and support Sophie at just the right moment.

The butler glanced at Matthew and the Stonor family's steward standing nearby, then turned back to Rafe. "Young Master, shall I arrange a different carriage for you?"

Rafe, now in a much better mood, waved his hand dismissively and turned around with a spring in his step. "No need. The carriage is shabby, and the attendants are loud, but it's still something Father arranged. If anyone's embarrassed, it's the Duke's estate, not

me."

As he spoke, he shot Matthew a smug, disdainful look, clearly enjoying the chance to provoke him.

He then turned to the butler. "You should head back and tell my sister to visit me... No, wait, forget it. I'll go see her once I'm done with my business."

She probably didn't want to return there either.
