Chapter 415
Yasbel casually grabbed the phone lying on the couch. The moment she saw the caller ID, her eyebrows knotted in annoyance.
"Mr. Schnabel, what's the drama this time?"
"I'm thinking of buying the script from our last TV project. Are you interested in continuing the shoot?"
Yasbel sat up straight. She had investments in that script! She wasn't about to watch a great script go down the drain because of some directorial issues.
"Sure, my agent will discuss the details with you. If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."
Stirling quickly added, "Are you attending Azure's new product launch?”
Yasbel glanced at Kitai standing before her. Why would she go to the launch? Wasn't she backstage at Azure right now?
"Mr. Schnabel, I've told you your sponsorship is secure. Don't forget our bet."
If Stirling secured Azure's sponsorship, he had to fulfill a condition for Yasbel!
"Alright."
Before Stirling could finish, Yasbel hung up and decided to block him!
Kitai's eyes widened.
"Yasbel, you just agreed to work with him on a project, and now you're blocking him? Is that really okay?"
Yasbel shrugged.
"The details are for my agent to handle. Besides, I don't want to go through another heart attack from getting a call from his mom!" Kitai burst into laughter.
"Yasbel, are you sure you're not into Stirling?"
"Not interested." Yasbel was very straightforward. "To me, he's just a kid! I'm not into younger guys, how could I be interested?"
People from Polaris Star have seen too much of the world. Far beyond what ordinary people can endure. Even someone as accomplished as the young Mr. Schnabel seemed childish to Yasbel.
Yasbel stretched, showing off her curves. "Look at the boss, she chose a man who walks the same path as her. Why settle for less if I can't find a fellow traveler?"
Only Yasbel would think being with Mr. Schnabel's son was settling!
Kitai nodded. “That makes sense, but people like Mr. Pollack are rare gems. You're not just saying you're not good enough for the Schnabel family, are you?"
Yasbel shook her finger. "I'm good enough for anyone! Mr. Schnabel just isn't my type for now. Maybe in the future, but until he knows about my past, he's not at my level."
Yasbel was only looking ahead. In her eyes, Stirling, who had always had an easy life, could never understand her past struggles.
Kitai chuckled along. "Who says Mr. Schnabel's had it easy? He's met you, hasn't he? What a challenge!"Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
It was clear to anyone with eyes that Stirling felt differently about Yasbel. But sadly, it was a case of unrequited love.
Yasbel rolled her eyes and slipped on her sunglasses. "He should consider himself lucky to face such a beautiful challenge like me. Only the blessed get this kind of trouble!"
On the other side.
Noella had just finished examining Sexton, advising him on what to be mindful of.
"Eat whatever you fancy."
Sexton barely recognized the person before him! His eyes gradually losing focus, he suddenly widened them at Noella.
"Harriet? What are you doing here? Oh, I remember, your medical skills are top-notch!"
Silence fell in the room! It took a moment for Sexton to gather his thoughts.
"I'm just down with a cold! Go back to Marcel!"
Sexton looked around the room, growing anxious.
“Harriet, have you seen my wife?”
Helen was sitting by the window, clearly unrecognized by Sexton!
Noella sighed. “Grandpa Sexton's memories seem to be stuck in his younger days. We'll see more of this."
Sexton, failing to find his wife, became more agitated.
"Harriet, is Helen mad at me? I didn't mean to stop her from singing. I'm just worried about her. She's been weak since the birth!"
Helen's eyes flickered.
Megan spoke up, "Dad, why didn't you say this earlier?"
"What are you talking about? Helen's stubborn. If I told her she's too weak for singing, she'd sing non-stop for days! Ah, I've got a daughter now!"
"Harriet, could you prepare some
medicine for Helen? We should stick
to one child. Taking Helen's last
name sounds good too. Childbirth is
too painful for women!"
Sexton's face bore a smile that belied his age, like a new father basking in the joy of his child, yet filled with concern for his wife.
Noella, knowing the condition, simply nodded. "Okay."
Minutes later.
Sexton turned to his eldest daughter, "Ah, prepare for my afternoon swim!"
"Swimming now?"
"Your mom's been ill. I need to stay fit to care for her."
Megan remembered a time when Helen was indeed unwell. Despite having enough help, why would Sexton insist on swimming daily, then argue with Helen at the hospital?
Megan fought back tears. "Mom's better now. It's you who's sick..."
Sexton looked resigned. "Is it really me? Well, if it has to be someone... I guess it's okay. I mean, Helen isn't exactly the nurturing type, is she?"
Megan turned away, quickly wiping away a tear that had escaped her eye.
Helen, who had been quietly sitting by the window, now wore a soft, tender smile that seemed quite out of character for her.
The moment Sexton caught sight of her, his whole demeanor lit up with undeniable excitement!
"Helen, come over here, sit with me!" he beckoned with a warmth that filled the room.
"Of course."

"It's a pity, though... days like these are numbered..."
Next to him, Helen slowly closed her eyes, whispering in a voice so faint it was almost inaudible, "There will be more days like these, many more..."
...
Kitai's call came through at that moment.
"Boss, your suit's all done. Master Esme's planning to feature it in an exhibition and wants you to come along!"
Esme's trip back home was primarily to oversee the creation of Noella's engagement dress personally. And now, she intended to put the final touches on the engagement dress live at the fashion exhibition task she insisted on completing with Noella by her side.
"I'll be right there," came the eager reply.
Upon hearing that it was about picking up Noella's engagement dress, Elara insisted on joining them. She wouldn't dream of missing it!
