The Invincible Arthur Gardner

Chapter 80 - Gearing Up to Strike

Chapter 80 - Gearing Up to Strike

Minutes and hours passed by with palpable tension as thousands of people streamed out of the

building after it was declared that they were no longer part of the Brown Company. Some attempted to

create a disturbance, but the majority of those who had opted to stay and continue working worked to

keep the chaos to a minimum.

Once the situation in the Brown Company had been restored to order, Arthur and the few remaining

executive members stayed quiet in the room, awaiting Arthur's next move. Meanwhile, thousands of

other employees also watched intently from the giant screens in the building, their faces fixed in a

mixture of awe and shock.

"Oh my god," someone said, their voice trembling. "Too many things happened today. I still can't digest

everything."

"However, I'm relieved I'm not one of those who got fired from this place," another added, a note of

relief in their voice.

"Oh man, I still need this job. And frankly I feel like what Boss Arthur did was wise enough he could

actually pick those who were bad at the company."

"That's right," the first person agreed, "and it's the first time I feel like my efforts to do well in this place

are truly appreciated by the company."

Once all was finished, it was already almost evening. Arthur could sense the tiredness and exhaustion

that had engulfed the room after such a long and eventful day. He stood and forced a calm expression

on his face.

"Thank you all for your assistance in taking the initial step towards improving this company," he said,

with a satisfied smile. "I believe it's best that we wrap up today's agenda promptly, so I'm giving you theText content © NôvelDrama.Org.

go-ahead to go home early. We can go over strategies and new personnel options for the vacant roles

tomorrow."

As Arthur exited the room, Edna and Alicia trailed behind him.

"Thank you, boss. Have a good rest," they said.

"We wish Mr. Gardner all the best, our new CEO," they added.

The atmosphere in the building was filled with praise and prayers for Arthur, and this time he truly felt

that the compliments were genuine and not just a shallow show of respect as he had just fired some

executives.

Even in the lobby, he was welcomed with warm smiles; some even clapped in appreciation.

"Long live the Brown Company!" one person shouted.

"We will welcome a better future!" another added.

After walking out of the building, Benno was there, grinning and holding open the car door for Arthur.

"It's really been an amazing day, boss. I salute you."

"Thanks, Benno," Arthur replied, getting into the car. Edna followed and sat on Arthur's right, and Alicia

was sitting in front of Arthur.

Arthur then reclined in his seat, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath, exhaling the fatigue from his

mind after everything he had experienced that day.

"You did your best today, boss." Edna muttered to Arthur under her breath.

Arthur then opened his eyes and turned to Edna with a tired face. "Thanks, Edna," he responded.

"I am truly very proud of you for taking such an audacious step. You are the first person I've ever seen

who was bold enough to do that." She continued.

"That's absolutely true, Arthur Oppa," Alicia said, putting her arms on her knees. "Do you need

something to help you relax and unwind after all you've done today?"

Arthur leaned back and looked at Alicia. "Sure, maybe a warm bath and a good meal would do the

trick," he replied.

Alicia smiled brightly in response. "Would you like us to take a hot bath together?" she asked playfully,

her eyes twinkling with amusement.

Arthur chuckled lightly.

"Alicia… You are not serious, are you?" Edna interjected abruptly, her voice full of amusement, "you're

quite the scamp, aren't you?"

Arthur let out a laugh. "No, thank you. I'm content just having you two as my dinner companions. I'm

sure a pleasant evening full of idle chatter is all I need to relax."

Alicia was in awe of the risk Arthur had taken. After all, they had been dealing with the people from The

Underworld for a few days now and had seen first-hand the immense power they wielded. Alicia

couldn't even imagine the amount of resistance they would put up against Arthur's actions that day.

However, Alicia decided to wait until later to discuss this further with Arthur, as she noticed he was

exhausted. Turning to Edna, she smiled and said, "Edna Unnie, of course I'm serious." Alicia chuckled

at her words.

Afterwards, Edna and Alicia attempted to cheer up Arthur by making light conversation.

"And boss," Edna began. "I have arranged the room you will be using at the Brown Company; it's

located on the top floor. I remember how much you enjoy the feeling of being up high, don't you?"

"It's not just that he likes to be in high places," Alicia interjected with a grin. "He also enjoys the rush of

high-stakes situations."

"Do you think I'm insane, Alicia?" Arthur asked. His tone was serious, but his expression was that of a

man who already knew the answer.

"Yes," Alicia responded, her head shaking in disapproval. "All the risks you take and daring decisions

you make, make it very clear that you don't want to lead a boring life, boss."

"That's true," Edna added, looking at Arthur. "Sometimes we have to fight for the peace and tranquility

we desire, right, boss?"

"I'm not so arrogant as to think I can single-handedly fight The Underworld," Arthur responded to Edna.

He saw Alicia and Edna were silenced by his words, a look of apprehension in their eyes as they were

well aware of the dangers and difficulties Arthur would face.

"But I will be sure to equip myself as best I can. The Underworld has clearly gone too far with us. It was

their own aggression that started this conflict with me," he added.

Edna nodded in agreement. "They certainly aren't afraid to resort to physical force to get what they

want. I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to target you and your businesses directly," she said.

"They even have a strong influence over the government and the police boss," Edna said, her voice

tinged with dismay.

"Tsk!" Alicia replied in annoyance. "Why is it that the more I get to know these rich people, the more I

want to rip their mouths out? It seems like even the government and the police, who are supposed to

protect us, are cooperating with the criminals."

"This way," Alicia continued, her voice taking on a resigned tone. "It looks like you're going against the

world alone, Arthur Oppa."

"Hmmm," Arthur responded thoughtfully, his face showing signs of fatigue. He then asked, "Why do I

feel like I am going to face big things in the future?"

[May I add a comment, Host?]

"No," Arthur replied firmly.

"Alright," Arthur said, glancing between Edna and Alicia. "You two don't need to worry. I have a plan in

place to address this issue. We will take it slow and steady, making sure that we take the right steps to

get this city back on track. As for The Underworld, I'm sure they won't take any drastic measures,

giving us enough time to fight back."
