Calux’s POV

Flashback

“Calux, you are now the new heir of your mother and me. I hope you do not imitate your reprimanding brother. If he had not been a rebel he would have been Fleland’s heir.” said my father as he sat on his throne.

I just quietly bowed while looking down in front of him.

“Calux are you listening? Or are you just like your rebellious brother?” my father asked earnestly.

“Yes father, I’m listening.” I answered immediately and looked up at him.

“That’s good. I thought you would be like your disrespectful brother! He puts himself before the kingdom!” almost furiously said, my father. “So I kicked him out and threw him into Albia to make sure he gets better. Well, let’s just see if he can make sure he gets better.” my father added sarcastically.

It’s been a few years since I last saw my older brother. he did not rebel, he was just too full because of what our father asked us to do. I now understand why my older brother rebelled.

“I’m telling you Calux! Never imitate your brother! If you don’t want me to send you to Albia too!” my father threatened me.

“Yes, father.” I answered while staring at him seriously.

“And also protect your reputation in Elite 10. Show that the kingdom of Fleland is a great and dependable kingdom! Is that clear? Calux?” my father said sharply as he pointed at me.

“Yes, father.” I answered.

“Furthermore… you must marry the only child of the king and queen of Lunaria to preserve the reputation of our kingdom. Everyone knows that our kingdom is one of the most powerful of the 10 kingdoms.” my father’s explanation.

I just bit my lip so hard and looked down.

“Remember what I tell you Calux. If you want to be king of our kingdom, follow what I ask you to do. Do you understand me?.” said my father.

I just nodded and stared at him and my mother. I know my mother wants to talk but she can’t because

they will only fight if she speaks.

“You can leave now.” said my father.

Our father’s treatment of us will never change. he prefers us to prioritize his will rather than do what we want. However, I could do nothing but follow his desires.

I hope my older brother is here so that I can have someone to sympathize with and talk to and ask for help with my decisions.

I gasped and lay down on my bed. I was in the dorm with my best friend Fredrick.

“Fred … a lot of people hate me, don’t they?” I asked while lying down.

“I know other students here almost cursed me because of what I was doing.” I said and then sighed.

Fredrick was right. Well, Frederick is my squire and also my best friend. Since childhood, he has been my companion besides my older brother. Fred is the son of one of the knights of our kingdom. that’s why he became my squire because my father’s order was for me to have a bodyguard and for someone to support me in the battles I will face and I choose Fred to be my squire.

“By the way, aren’t you going home to Fleland? Don’t you need to get ready for tomorrow?” said Fred as he raised an eyebrow.

“I do not want.” I answered immediately.

“What are you, you have to go home to your palace what are you going to wear right?”

I gasped and got up from my bed. Fredrick and I are the only two in this dorm room. I actually said to the receptionist Ms. Aislinn that I prefer that Fred and I are the only two here than with the others.

“Fine … so are you coming?” I asked him.

“Sure … I missed Dad and my Mom.” he said and immediately stood on the floor.

“Then let’s go.” I said and immediately created a portal to teleport to Fleland.

Arrival in Fleland. Immediately my father, who was standing in front of our large palace door, now approached me.

Fred and I bowed quickly when we see my father.

“Calux.” he called to me while his arms crossed.

“Bro, I’ll leave you so you and your father talk.” said Fred.

I nodded at him and smiled. he patted my shoulder before leaving.

“Calux.” my father called me again.

I turned to him.

“Why did you just come back now?” my father asked.

“I have to fix something before I come here.” I answered.

“Is that so?” he was obviously still suspicious of my answer.

“Yes.” I answer seriously.

“You go inside, your clothes are ready for tomorrow.” said my father and went inside first.

I gasped and immediately followed him.

I did not speak as I followed him as he also walked quietly. The weight of feeling every time I am here in the palace. Every move I made was in accordance with my father’s wishes. I bit my lip while walking.

“Go straight to your room and look at the clothes that were made for you for tomorrow.” said my father as he walked.

I bowed my head and entered the room. Upon entering, someone immediately hugged me.

“Calux!” she said as she hugged me.

My eyes widened and I almost burst into tears when I saw who hugged me.

“Oh Calux missed you!” she said and smiled at me.

“M-Mom …” I almost whispered to her.

“Oh Darling, mommy missed you.” she said and then held my hand tightly.

“I’m sorry if, I can do nothing every time your daddy becomes strict with you two.” said mom as she looked down.

“M-Mom … don’t be sorry, it’s not your fault.” I said and held his hand tightly.

“Son, if I could only talk to your daddy I would have done it and I can’t blame your brother for why he rebelled. This is all my fault.” said my mom and started sobbing.

I immediately hugged her as her tears slowly dripped.

It really hurts to see my dear mother crying. My heart aches with pain. I can do nothing but follow whatever my dear father wants. Even against my will, I could do nothing. Even my mother who is queen could do nothing but keep quiet while she was behind my father.

“Don’t blame yourself mother.” I said and then kissed her forehead.

“I’m really sorry son.” she said as she cried and hugged me.

“It’s okay mom … don’t cry anymore.” I said while holding back my tears.

I feel sorry for my mommy. she was having a hard time because of what our dad was doing. so I will do everything so that daddy has nothing to say to me I will do everything he wants.

For dad. Even if It means I should forget what I want.

and forget who I really am.
