Freaking out, Alistair flailed his hands and shouted non-stop, "You don't need to do this. My family has nothing to do with it. I honestly have no clue about The Misfortune Veil's location or who owns the organization. Show some mercy, please!"

Matthew started counting. "One."

His voice was cold and robotic like a heartless machine. When Alistair heard it, it sent chills down his spine. Just hearing it was enough to make his skin crawl.

"Please! Enough with the counting. I'll tell you everything I know."

Matthew carried on counting, "Two."

Alistair held up a hand. "Okay, I'll spill it right now. The owner is probably in his 30s, but I'm not sure of his exact age. I'm just guessing based on the sound of his voice. He likes to eat pasta. One time, when he was on the phone, I overheard someone next to him ordering pasta. I'm guessing he was eating at a pasta place."

Matthew coldly asked, "Is that all? I need a way to find him. If this is all you're giving me, I'll start counting to three."

Just then, Giselle's voice came from the corridor. "Alistair woke up and started saying strange things, doctor. That person saved him, but he keeps saying that person is trying to kill him. Why did he turn out like this?"

Matthew sported a cold look. "Your mother's coming back. Her fate is in your hands."

Sweat broke out on Alistair's forehead. "When I reached Lambda City yesterday, he called to give me a job. When we were talking, someone on the line shouted about heading to the train station and making it quick.

"The Misfortune's Veil's owner apologized and told the passengers to take another cab. He claimed that he was waiting for someone. Then, I heard an argument on the phone with complaints about turning off the taxi light.

"As far as I can tell, he showed up in Lambda City pretending to be a cab driver. That's everything I know. Please spare my mom."

After he spoke, he put his hands together and looked at Matthew with a pleading gaze.

Right then, Giselle entered the ward as she spoke with the doctor, "Did you hear that? Alistair is begging him not to kill me. This person saved his life and he's such a kind person. Why would he want to kill me? Is there something with Alistair, doctor?"

The doctor looked troubled. "I'm not sure. Could it be that a bee sting can cause hallucinogenic effects?"

Alistair had no time to worry about what Giselle and the doctor were saying. He kept pleading with Matthew, "You can take my life. I'll do anything you want. Just don't harm my mom."

Frowning, Matthew thought the information sounded detailed, but it was pretty useless. In truth, it wasn't entirely Alistair's fault but more so that Nathan was cunning.

The Misfortune's Veil's owner drove a cab, huh? With over 2,000 cabs in Lambda City, where should Matthew even start looking?

Knowing he wouldn't get anything useful, Matthew coldly remarked, "Stop being ridiculous. Why would hurt your mom? You're really out of your mind. The doctor's timings perfect. Doctor, you should run a CT scan on his head to see if there's a problem."

Matthew never actually planned to kill Alistair's family. Those threats just now were just to intimidate Alistair. Matthew wasn't a homicidal maniac, so why would he go around and murder innocent people?

Upon hearing Matthew's words, Alistair sighed in relief. "Thank you so much for your mercy. I owe you my life. If you need anything, just say the word. I won't hesitate at all."noveldrama

Alistair's identity was already out in the open. If Matthew got upset, he could kill Alistair at any time.

Alistair had no choice but to offer his life to calm Matthew's anger.
