Chapter 769
A cold glint flashed in Alistair's eyes as he tossed some beeswax at Matthew. After grabbing his beekeeping hat, he kicked at the hive box right next to him. Every move happened smoothly and consecutively.
Buzzing filled the air as a swarm of bees came flying right at Alistair. He didn't panic at all since he had his beekeeping hat on, but his head suddenly felt lighter. The beekeeping hat was gone!
Upon turning around, Alistair realized Matthew had snatched his beekeeping hat and put it on. Matthew even quickly sprinted away.
Alistair was scared out of his wits and tried to make a run for it, but it was too late. The buzzing bees were all over him. Before he knew it, his face felt like it was being stabbed by thousands of needles. He frantically tried to swat the bees away, but his effort was futile.noveldrama
Alistair dropped to the ground and rolled around, but the bees swarmed at him like moths to a flame.
The ground was covered with bees. Some were dead, some had broken legs from being squashed, some had lost their wings, and some had their heads crushed. Many bees had died.
Despite that, even more bees swarmed all over Alistair, covering him in multiple layers as though he were a walking beehive. A shrill, agonizing scream came from Alistair. It was unbearable to hear.
After leaving with the stolen beekeeping hat, Matthew walked farther away. When he saw no bees were chasing him, he casually tossed the hat aside and turned back to watch silently.
Sitting in a cab from a distance, Nathan saw the pitiful sight of his subordinate and felt an uncomfortable chill, like he had goosebumps all over.
Worse yet, these weren't just any bees. They were giant honey bees, which were the largest kind out there. They liked to stick together, had an aggressive nature, and were known for their relentless, coordinated attack.
Alistair reared these bees specifically for his missions. A single sting would leave a nasty swelling. The idea of all those bees crawling on him and stinging was terrifying.
Another one of his men had bitten the dust. With hardly anyone left, was he really going to have to step in himself?
Nathan stared at Matthew in the distance, his eyes filled with hatred.
Starting this business wasn't easy. He went from being a miner who was cheated out of his pay to founding The Misfortune's Veil. His journey was rocky as he had to navigate a dangerous path marked by blood and killing as he climbed his way up.
After all his hard work, he finally built a big reputation for The Misfortune's Veil. Now, he spent his days in the
be
office as his men did the dirty work. All he did was kick back and relax with his drinks, fooling around with pretty women as millions of dollars entered his account every day.
In the end, Matthew appeared and ruined everything Nathan had built.
At that point, it was about how much money the Fuller family paid. More than that, Nathan couldn't rest until Matthew was gone.
As Nathan fixed his gaze on Matthew, he came up with another plan to get rid of Matthew. With that in mind, he started the cab and drove off.
Half an hour later, the bees had dispersed.
Alistair was left barely clinging to his life. His eyes had swollen shut with big lumps covering his face, neck, and head. Even his breathing had become faint.
The bystanders kept their distance, worried that getting too close might drag them into the situation.
Alistair feebly said, "Help... Help me..."
Matthew came up to Alistair. Upon noticing he couldn't even open his eyes, Matthew crouched beside him. "Hello, I'm just passing through. can help you make a call, but I don't want any trouble. You can call your family if you want. Do you need me to help you with that?"
What do you think?
