Upon hearing Matthew's words, Rachel realized what was about to happen next. Rachel bit her lower lip and snorted.

"You pervert! We're in a car... Why does it have to be in the car? We haven't done it on the bed—" She was halfway through her sentence when her voice suddenly faltered.

With passion in his eyes, Matthew started smirking. "I'm giving you treatment and helping you out. Saving your life is quite urgent, so it doesn't matter where it happens."

Rachel clenched her jaw. "You scoundrel. You took advantage of me and still pretend it's about saving my life. How shameless are you?"

Matthew chuckled. "I swear I'm trying to help you get better. After this, you'll go from being cold as ice to a bright ray of sunshine."

As the sun set, its light spilled over the city. The red sedan gleamed with a vibrant red glow. The car rocked gently, and the sunlight shone on the car.

The sun eventually vanished behind the mountains. The sky to the west was painted with stunning colors like a beautiful oil painting.

Zachary stood at the door, keeping an eye on the car parked at the roadside. He occasionally checked his watch as he counted the hours. Eventually, he counted to the third hour.

Feeling his legs going sore from standing, Zachary couldn't help but complain. "Seriously... this is too much... I need to go home and practice my squats."

The streetlights turned on when the car door opened. Rachel got out of the car and wiped the sweat off her face.

She frowned and remarked, "When did it turn so dark?"

Matthew got out of the car. "It's already so dark. Time flies so fast."

Rachel rolled her eyes at Matthew. "That's your fault."

Matthew responded with a grin, "I told you I'm here to help you get better. I'm doing this for your own good."

Rachel grunted in annoyance. She had never seen someone so shameless. Matthew was clearly just a pervert pretending it was for her sake. She concluded that he was simply a jerk.

But for some reason, she enjoyed this way of chatting. It felt fresh, quirky, flirty, and unconventional. Rachel had no idea why she was into this way of getting along.

After a pause, she took a deep breath and cleared her mind of the jumbled thoughts.

Rachel cleared her throat and said, "Let's talk about something serious. Come to the office early tomorrow. I can't shake the feeling that Wyatt will stir up some trouble again."

Wyatt was quite full of himself and even sent people to cause a scene at the company. So, she suspected that he had some serious backing.

Matthew suddenly recalled something. "Where's Brendon? If he was around, those troublemakers wouldn't have even tried to stir things up today."

Brendon Hatfield was initially a bodyguard working for Malcolm, Rachel's uncle. Later, Matthew defeated Brendon and made him Rachet's bodyguard. But today, when chaos erupted, Brendon was nowhere to be found.

Brendon? Upon hearing that name, Rachel's expression immediately turned cold.

"He tried to ask me out, so I fired him on the spot."

Was that so? Brendon was actually making moves on Rachel as well. Matthew didn't see it coming. When he recruited Brendon, he'd ended up inviting a love rival.

Rachel then thought of something else. "Isaac died when he came to see me. The Wood family isn't going to let this slide. They might come after me at any time. For the time being, let's hold off on getting back together as a couple."

Blushing, Rachel glared at Matthew. "That's all you ever think about, you pervert."

Matthew smiled and said, "I've got my mind on important things too. I'll go with you to meet Wyatt tomorrow."
