Chapter 624
Chapter 624
Parker drove out alone after leaving the hospital.
He forcibly pressed the car accelerator to speed up, as if he had to release his anger. Within a minute,
his car reached the fastest speed.
He didn't stop until the car ran out of gas, and then he parked the car at the door of a bar.
When he looked at the flashing neon signs of the bar, Parker raised a sarcastic smile.
He didn't expect to stop here in such a coincidence. Could it be fate to tell him that he was hopeless
and needed to drink some wine to dispel his worries?
If that was the case, then let it be.
Parker walked into the bar in a low mood. He ordered some of the strongest spirits and sat down to
drink.
Before long, the man was a little drunk. But his mind was still clear and he kept repeating what
Meredith said today.
"Why? Is he that good..."
Parker held the wine bottle, with his red eyes that indicated his unwillingness.
Only then did he realize that he had finished his drink. "Waiter, bring more."
As Parker just said that, a pair of slender, fair hands suddenly appeared to hold his hand.
"Parker, stop drinking. You're already drunk."
Jenny looked at Parker's dispirited face and felt sad for him.
Parker had not been in contact with her recently. She was so worried that she came to J City to see
how he was doing.
Unexpectedly, when she arrived, she could not contact Parker at all. So she had to ask someone to
check his cell phone's location. Then she came here, only to see his drunk and numb face.
"I'm not drunk. I'm very sober now. If I were drunk, I wouldn't be as heartbroken as I am now."
Parker wanted to get rid of Jenny's hand with impatience, but Jenny became very hard with him, which
was very rare. "Parker, you can't drink so much. This is completely not you. It is cowardly to numb
yourself with alcohol."
"Well, it's my business, Jenny. Don't get in the way. You go back first. I'll see you tomorrow."
Parker was still stubborn. Seeing that he didn't listen to her, Jenny sat down and said, "Well, if you want
to drink, I'll accompany you."
After that, Jenny ordered a few bottles of wine. After opening them, she poured them into a glass and
wanted to drink them all in one gulp.
Seeing that, Parker snatched the glass away and threw it to the ground. "Are you crazy?"
Jenny paid much more effort that was beyond imagination so that she reached this high position she
deserved. Her stomach went wrong due to alcohol long ago as she had to socialize with various
partners. If she really drank this, she would probably have stomach bleeding and be sent to the hospital
soon.
As her glass had been snatched away, Jenny looked at Parker. "If you still want to hurt your body like Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
this, I'll stay with you. After all, this is my body. You can't stop me if I love to do so."
Parker was silent for a moment when he heard this. In the end, he couldn't watch Jenny hurt her body
in front of him. "You win. Forget it. That's all for today."
Seeing this, Jenny breathed a sigh of relief and immediately called the waiter to help drunk Parker get
into the car.
Parker was almost drunk. As he had to go back, he could only choose to close eyes, and soon fell
asleep.
Jenny saw him fall asleep and the worries on his face faded a little. She looked at Parker's face
through the rearview mirror, which was still so handsome and charming, but with a little more sadness.
Jenny sighed and was about to drive when Parker talked in sleep.
"Mer... Mer, why are you... not keeping your word..."
Hearing this, Jenny's expression changed and a hint of cruelty flashed in her eyes.
She never wanted Parker to be with Meredith. That woman did not like him at all, and could not help his
career at all.
However, as Parker insisted, she could only let it go.
She thought this time Parker could realize his dream. But it was just an illusion.
Jenny clenched her fist and watched Parker frown in pain behind her. She wouldn't let this go.
Meredith stayed in the ward with Amelia for a while and then walked out.
Fiona was about to discharge today, so Meredith was going to help her pack.
As soon as Meredith entered the children's ward, she saw Easton sitting by the bed, saying that he
would peel a fruit for Fiona.
Meredith could not help shaking her head. It was the first time she had seen Easton so diligent. But
because there were children here, there was no fruit knife at all.
Seeing that Easton was looking for a peeling knife, Meredith walked over and said, "Easton, put the
fruit down. The doctor said Fiona could go home today. Let's go back and I will peel fruit for you two."
Easton was very delighted to hear that Fiona could leave the hospital. "Really? That's great."
Fiona also smiled. And then, thinking of what her mother told her to do, she hesitated for a moment and
slowly said, "Aunt Mer, I... I want to go back with my mother."
Hearing this, Meredith was surprised. Looking at Fiona's expression, she knew that Fiona wanted to be
with her mother.
But...
That woman was also ordered by Derek to come here for benefit and interest. Meredith was still not at
ease to let Fiona's mother take Fiona away.
"Ah, why do you want to leave so soon? Don't you feel good to stay at my home?"
Easton was a little unhappy to hear that Fiona was leaving. It was not easy for him to have a partner to
play with, and now the only one would leave so soon.
"No, it's just that mom said she was willing to take me home. I've met that uncle. He's very nice. So I
want to be with mom."
Afraid that Easton would be angry, Fiona quickly explained. The more she spoke, the lower her voice
became.
Hearing this, Meredith could not refuse her, so she patted Easton on the back. "Easton, don't make a
fuss. Even if Fiona really goes to her mother's place, it's not like you won't see each other anymore.
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to play together.
But... Fiona, have you really thought about it? I want you to stay with us. And you can live with us as
long as you want. "
Fiona was very touched when she heard this. She liked Aunt Mer very much, but now her mother finally
showed up and was willing to be with her so she didn't want to miss this opportunity.
"I've made up my mind. I want to be with mom, Aunt Mer. Thank you for your help these days. I'll never
forget it in my life."
Seeing how determined the little girl was, Meredith would not force her to stay any longer. After all, they
were not related by blood. If things went wrong, she would have no advantage in court.
