The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Frank growled coolly, "Talk, or I'll let go for real this time!"

Hal was now utterly cowed, having technically experienced death once earlier.

"I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!" he quickly said, having lost all his bravado. "It's this group called Zephyr Hall, and they specialize in seeking a type of natural energy. I'm just working for them if you have a problem, take it up with them!" Frank smirked and made sure that no one was below before letting go.

Hal started screaming again, his voice echoing until silence returned.

Returning behind his desk, Frank said, "Ask Jouri Yelin to look into the Zephyr Hall. And recall more of our men to prepare this isn't going to be easy.

"Yes, Mr. Frankton!" Both Jada and Moxxi nodded and left.

Jouri only came the next afternoon. "We got them, but it turns out they're operating abroad and not in Shagan. What now?"

Frank thought about it. "They'll definitely be back to try something else after their plan A has failed! And I'm thinking we should have people watching the tombs, don't you agree?"

Jouri smiled. "I'm technically your subordinate, so what you say goes. You don't have to go through me!"

Frank nodded but said nothing.

Soon after Jouri left, Demi entered. "Sorry for the sudden intrusion, Mr. Frankton..."

Frank was bemused. "Why are you calling me that?"

Demi flashed a pained smile. "What else should I call you?"

"Just don't be a stranger. We're all friends here, and you're being too respectful."

Demi sighed in exasperation. "It's only appropriate! Anyway, Moaning Club paid me, and I can float for a while, so I'm here to say goodbye!"

"Already?"

"Yup. I'd just like a change of pace!"

Frank smiled but said nothing-Demi was not after a change of pace, as she had simply gotten bored of Bono Town and would not want to longer.

"You have my number," he told her. "Call me if you're in trouble."noveldrama

"Okay." Demi nodded and turned to leave.

Soon after, Alda Ingram, Jada, Moxxi, and Meg Quill all entered, leaving Frank puzzled. "How rare. Everyone's here."

"Ms. Oakleaf left?" Alda asked.

Frank nodded. "She didn't say it outright, but I have a feeling that she got bored of this place. What, do you want to go on a trip with her?"

"Nothing gets past you!" Alda smiled. "Demi's planning to climb Mount Statera, and we thought it's a good idea, so we're checking with you."

Before Frank could answer, Jada

added, "Things are at a standstillet

with Heracles and Zephyr Hall at the moment, so we could use the time to relax."

"And don't worry about holding the fort either. With Higo Soldi and Monte Petale

taking care of things, nothing bad would happen!"

Moxxi nodded in agreement. "We'll be busy once we dive deeper into Zephyr Hall, and holidays would be a pipe dream at that point. We should enjoy ourselves while we can!"

Frank turned toward Meg. "What do you think?"

Meg had virtually no authority compared to the other three ladies and only considered herself Frank's minion.

Not daring to have an opinion, she said softly, "I'm fine with anything!"

"Does that mean you want to go?" Frank asked.

Meg blushed for once, hanging her head in silence.

Frank chuckled in amusement at her reaction. "Alright, let's go!"

Everyone traded glances and celebrated, jubilant.
