Chapter 35: 35

Chapter 35: 35

I wake-up with Elliot’s voice, telling me to eat breakfast. When I open my eyes, he wasn’t there. I sit up

and look around only to see that I was alone on the bed. I look over to the clock standing on the

bedside; it’s nine o’clock. Rest my back on the bed frame. I take a deep breath before I stand and

slowly slide the door open. I see Elliot on the dinning table with breakfast and his laptop in front of him.

His upper body in formal wear and his lower half, well, best for the bedroom. Elliot sees me and just the

right time, his meeting ends.

I walk out and sit in front of him. There is so much on the table and I a little of each meal. Elliot looks at

me as I get my food. I raise my eyebrow and say, “What?”

He shakes his head, “Nothing.” He breaths out heavily, “I have to tell you something”

I look at him, “If you have a meeting, it’s fine. Just do it. I’ll wait for you when you’re done. I have to

start packing our things anyway” I start eating.

Elliot silently smiles, “Okay. I’ll leave my credit card as usual, alright?” he tells me.

I nod at him, “Maybe I’ll shop for make up later. Are you going to leave your laptop behind?” I ask him.

He nods, “Yeah. I’ll just bring my iPad” he tells me. There is a light knock on the door. Elliot stands and

opens it. There’s quick chatting and Elliot runs towards me for a kiss.

“I’ll see you later for lunch or early dinner” he whispers. He grabs his iPad, pulls out his card from his Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

wallet and closes the door behind him before he leaves. I am left with a buffet amount of food so I

decide to watch Instagram stories. There were so many messages from friends and family but I did not

feel like answering them at this moment. While I ate and watch stories, I look over to Elliot’s credit card.

It was transparent from American Express. I stand to take Elliot’s laptop. I open a tab and start googling

furniture, curtains, containers, shelves and the like for the condo. Start browsing at Crate and Barrell for

the added accents for the condo. I haven’t actually seen the condo, which means I don’t know what

really fits. I just add to cart those that I feel are cute or something. There’s a light vibration on the table

and it was my phone. I swipe to see who it is.

It’s Elliot.

“There is much to see from the world above

And so, we must strive that it be known

Leap of faith, is all that it takes

For a rose to rise from its smallest grain

-E”

Elliot sent a poem for me. I smile a little. Is he bored from his meeting? I start typing a reply:

“The light from above, let it fall on earth

For when man sees it, it will show

That he who accepts his fate, will never wallow

In a dream that we allow to be a reality

-E”

I send the poem back to him. I wait he is able to read the message.
