Chapter 1545
Mirabella had just sent the message when she tapped her phone screen a few times. Seconds later, she tucked her phone back into her pocket and quietly started eating her lunch.
On the other end, J was panicking upon reading the words "cutting ties". He handed his suitcase to an assistant by his side and focused on sending a message: "Come on, Dad, even if it's the death penalty, there should be a reason, right?"
But just as he hit send, a red exclamation mark immediately appeared in front of the message.
J:""
Unbelieving, he sent another message, only to receive a red exclamation mark again.
So, 'Dad' was really cutting ties with him, and it wasn't a joke?noveldrama
Seeing the shocked look on J's face, his assistant couldn't help but ask softly, "Is something wrong?"
J was still immersed in the reality of being abandoned by 'Dad'. No matter how he tried to reconnect with Mirabella, there was no trace of her to be found.
He and 'Dad' had met online and had never exchanged contact information.
As both were computer hackers, he had easily hacked into the other's phone, so they had always kept in touch through messages over the years.
Now it seemed that it wasn't because his skills were good enough to hack into 'Dad's phone, but rather that 'Dad' had intentionally left him a way to connect.
Running his fingers through his slightly curly hair, J couldn't figure out how 'Dad' could change his tune overnight.
They had a pleasant chat just yesterday!
"Check the company's recent business transactions for me," J turned to his assistant, his voice serious.
The assistant was slightly startled, then nodded respectfully and agreed.
"Also, send me the address of the hotel you booked," J instructed as he strode outside.
The assistant, following his pace, remembered something, "Hank from the Tech Institute invited you for dinner..."
"Cancel it," J raised his hand, dismissing the idea without a second thought.
His 'Dad' was about to cut ties with him, so there was no mood for dinner.
At that moment, the assistant didn't dare to ask more, "Alright, I understand."

The next day, Mirabella arrived at the school promptly at nine.
When she reached Zane's office, Zane was talking with Mr. Calvin.
Calvin glanced at Mirabella, stopped talking, and then said in a calm voice, "Let's go, don't waste any time."
After saying that, he walked outside.
Mirabella was wearing a khaki trench coat today, with the sleeves rolled up to reveal her fair wrists. She saw Zane's brow furrowed and earnestly comforted him, "Zane, don't worry too much."
Hearing this, Zane was somewhat moved, not even minding the informal address, "Alright, once we get to the Tech Institute, you don't have to worry about anything. The professor will handle the
communications."
Mirabella slightly raised her eyebrows but didn't say anything more.
Around ten o'clock, Calvin, along with Zane and Mirabella, arrived at the Tech Institute.
Hank's assistant had been waiting and arranged for them to wait in a standard lounge, "Mr. Calvin, please wait here. Once the representative from DO Group arrives, we'll See about arranging for you to meet."
Mr. Calvin smiled politely, "Thank you for your efforts."
"You're welcome." The assistant left after closing the door slightly ajar.
Once they were alone, Calvin turned to Mirabella, thought for a moment, and then warned, "I've heard the representative from DO Group this time is quite formidable. Remember to watch your words later.
