The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1491

When they got back to the apartment complex, an hour had already passed.

Mirabella had dozed off in the car for a while, only coming to her senses when the car came to a stop. She lifted her gaze to look at the garage, then turned to look at the man in the driver's seat.

James didn't speak. He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.

Mirabella raised an eyebrow but followed suit.

James had already walked around the car to meet her. His mask had been removed, revealing eyes as dark as ink, but the look he directed at Mirabella was burning with intensity.

In this moment, it was just the two of them.noveldrama

Mirabella coughed, the sleepiness not yet fully dispelled from her eyes, resembling a lazy cat. She opened her mouth to speak, "You..."

In the next instant, her waist was suddenly encircled by James's hand, pulling her into his embrace. A kiss, filled with passionate longing, descended, swallowing up the words in her mouth.

After what felt like an eternity, James finally let go. Mirabella's fair cheeks had turned a rosy hue. He took her hand and led her towards the house, saying, "Let's rest for a bit. I'll take you out for dinner later."

Mirabella: "Oh."

Once inside, James guided her to sit on the living room sofa, then went to pour a cup of hot tea, which he handed to Mirabella before sitting down beside her.

Mirabella held the cup, taking only a couple of sips before setting it down.

Just as she was about to speak, James had already naturally wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close. He rested his head on her shoulder, his voice enticingly murmuring in her ear.

"Let me lean on you for a while." As James spoke, his lips brushed against Mirabella's neck, his warm breath fanning her skin.

Mirabella: "."

James tightened his arm, adjusting until they found a comfortable position, and then contentedly closed his eyes.

Mirabella tilted her head slightly, seeing up close the fatigue etched between the man's brows, especially the dark circles under his eyes which were prominently visible.

It seemed he hadn't had a good night's sleep in a long time.

Mirabella allowed James to lean on her, pausing for a moment before she took out her phone from her pocket and quickly turned on silent mode.

After doing this, she tucked her phone behind the sofa cushion and left it be. Unknowingly, Mirabella too drifted off to sleep after a while.

The sky outside gradually darkened until it was completely enveloped by the night.

In fact, after Catherine's death, Mirabella hadn't really had a good night's sleep for a long time. Today, however, she surprisingly slept very deeply.

When she woke up, James was no longer by her side. Originally sitting on the

sofa, she found herself lying down now, covered with a blanket.

Mirabella slowly sat up, then looked up at the clock on the wall. It was almost 9 PM.

She had slept for almost four hours.

Mirabella was slightly stunned, not expecting to have slept so soundly.

Just then, her stomach

embarrassingly growled. Coming back to her senses, Mirabella ran a hand through her hair, then set the blanket aside and stood up from the sofa, walking towards the dining room in her fluffy slippers

After looking around, she found that both the dining room and kitchen were empty.

Mirabella turned to go upstairs, her foot already on the stair when her gaze caught the light on in the basement next to the stairs.

Pausing, she retracted her foot and headed towards the basement.
