"Shannon... Holly doesn't know how to act appropriately for her age. You shouldn't worry about this matter," Brendon said.

Before this incident happened, he only thought that Holly talked too much but never expected that she would actually dare to use violence against someone else.

"Holly! Apologize to your sister-in-law!" This one sentence from Brendon hurt two people - it made Holly furious while causing Shannon's lips tremble uncontrollably.

"Brother! I won't apologize to her! Everything I said is true; it must be because she holds a grudge against Shannon and ordered someone else to harm her!"

"I also won't call Ranita my sister-in-law! You're making Shannon sad like this!" Holly spoke without any restraint and dragged Shannon into the argument directly.

Shannon secretly regretted coming along now since it only made Ranita laugh at them more than ever before.

"Holly, please don't say things like that about Ranita who has been working hard for Boulderland Mansion for years now," pleaded soft-spoken Shannon while pulling on Holly's hand gently as if trying not let anyone see what was happening between them.

Holly didn't want give in easily but unfortunately they were outnumbered here since Brendon was present.

Seeing how unwillingly stubborn Holly looked right now prompted sympathetic words from soft- hearted Shannon again, "Brendon, this matter also involves me. I will apologize first! It's all my fault…"

Because of Shannon standing by her side right now, Holly felt extremely touched inside. She grabbed onto Shannon tightly saying, "Shannon, this matter has nothing do with you!"

"Ranita, I'm sorry for what happened earlier," apologized Holly impulsively.

Ranita remained silent without indicating whether or not she forgave them. However, Brendon stood by her side which meant something positive after all.

He then escorted them out of there together afterwards.

Shannon looked at Brendon with reluctance. "Brendon, are you going home today?" She leaned into him as she spoke.

"Shannon, are you okay?" Brendon held her up. "You don't look well. You should stay at home and rest."

"I want to stay at home and rest too," Shannon pouted. "But I can't sleep or eat well without you."

Brendon hesitated as he looked at Shannon's hopeful eyes. "I might be late going back today."

"Oh..." Shannon paused for a moment before putting on a brave face and saying, "It's okay. Ranita is back, and you should spend time with her instead of me. I'm sorry for being so childish, Brendon..."

"Brother, please come back with us! Shannon is getting out of the hospital today, and she'll be so sad if you're not there!" Holly was getting anxious.

"You hush!" Brendon snapped at Holly, and she sulkily muttered, "Ranita doesn't have good intentions toward Shannon, don't you believe me?"

"Even if she didn't do it, it must have been Dylan! Shannon is so kind; who would have the heart to hurt her?" Holly believed her analysis was spot-on. She continued, "It can only be Ranita! Shannon returned, and she was kicked out of Boulderland Mansion; she must hold a grudge against Shannon."

"Holly, don't say that..." Shannon tried to stop her, but Holly had already started her tirade. She said, "It's because my brother likes Shannon! She must be eaten up with jealousy."

"Brendon..." Shannon bit her lip, trying to appear pitiable, but Brendon ignored her and said, "Ranita wouldn't do anything to harm others. Shannon's situation is definitely not related to her. You all should go back now."

Back in their apartment, Brendon asked Ranita, "Is Shannon's situation related to you?"

Facing this question, Ranita felt her heart ache as if it were being cut into pieces.
