Chapter 2467
Chapter 2467
Justin's unexpected arrival sent a ripple of tension through the conference room, the air in an instant.
freezing
Across the table, Grant lifted his gaze slowly, his pitch-black eyes unfathomable. A chilling, oppressive aura surrounded him.
"Justin? Why are you here?" Gregory's voice held a note of shock, his brows knitting together.
Justin's lips curled into the barest hint of a smile polite yet distant.
"I may no longer be Salvador Corporation's president, but I am still a shareholder and a board member. My presence here is not only justified but necessary."
With that, he strode forward, each step deliberate, each movement exuding effortless control. Just as he passed behind Grant, he came to an abrupt halt.
Then, without warning, he slammed his palm onto the back of Grant's chair. The sudden impact sent a tremor through Grant's body. "Isn't that right, brother?"noveldrama
Grant's expression darkened, his fingers tightening into a fist beneath the table. Yet, after a brief pause, Grant forced a stiff smile. "You're a board member, after all. Even if you're no longer involved in daily operations, you have the right to be here. No one can deny that." Justin took his seat, crossing one leg over the other. His gaze lowered slightly, exuding a quiet indifference, yet his presence commanded the entire room.
His voice was smooth yet laced with sharpness. "In that case, why was I not informed about this meeting?"
Grant chuckled, the sound low and unhurried. "Perhaps you should ask your secretary. If he failed to notify you of such an important meeting, that speaks to his lack of professionalism, don't you think?"
The tension in the room coiled tighter, the unspoken challenge between the two Salvador brothers hanging thick in the air.
Gregory's face stiffened. If this continued, the meeting would spiral into open warfare. He cleared his throat and shifted his gaze downward, steering the discussion back to the crisis at hand.
"The recent press conference stirred up significant repercussions for the company. While the situation has largely stabilized, I felt it necessary to convene this meeting to address matters openly."
He hesitated for a moment, his voice uncharacteristically unsure.
"My two sons had an unfortunate confrontation at the press conference, but I believe there must have been some misunderstanding. Grant and Justin are brothers. When they were young, Grant even saved Justin's life. Blood is thicker than water. I refuse to believe Grant would resort to such ruthless tactics to frame his own brother."
Silence fell over the boardroom.
Grant coughed lightly before lifting his gaze, casting a shadowed glance at Justin, who remained seated with effortless poise.
The man's striking features betrayed no emotion. He appeared completely unbothered, as though he were not the one being discussed but merely a spectator to someone else's misfortune.
Grant let out a quiet scoff. 'He certainly knows how to keep his composure.'
Gregory exhaled slowly before continuing, his throat unbearably dry despite the sip of water he had just taken.
"The police investigation has been concluded. It was confirmed that the entire incident was orchestrated by the female doctor under Grant's command. She has confessed, and Grant himself had no involvement."
The room remained deathly still, yet the weight of unspoken words loomed over them all. His voice grew deeper, each word deliberate. "So, I trust no one here will hold any lingering prejudice against Grant over this matter. As president, his capabilities speak for themselves."
The message was unmistakable.
Gregory had made his choice. He would stand by Grant, no matter what.
Grant was the favored eldest son and the heir apparent. Even if the world turned against him, Gregory would remain steadfast.
Meanwhile, Justin, no matter how flawless or extraordinary, would never receive the same unwavering support.
Some things were decided at birth. No matter how fast one ran, some distances could never be closed. Still, appearances had to be maintained.
Gregory straightened his posture, his tone steady.
"We will now proceed with the vote on my eldest son, Grant, continuing his tenure as the president of Salvador Corporation-"
Before he could finish, the doors to the conference room swung open once more.
A hush fell over the room.
All eyes, including those of the Salvador family, turned toward the entrance.
A moment later, every board member's expression shifted.
Then, they stood almost in unison, buttoned their suit jackets, and bowed respectfully.
Seated in a wheelchair was Nigel Salvador, being pushed forward by his secretary Matt.
"Old Master Nigel."
Grant's expression darkened slightly, betraying no emotion.
Gregory immediately rose to his feet, a flicker of astonishment passing through his usually composed features. "Father? Why are you here?"
Justin also stood up, his sharp eyes reflecting both surprise and deep concern. “Grandpa...?"
Nigel had long since retreated from the corporate world, his health deteriorating with age. Though he still held a seat on the board, he had relinquished control to Gregory years ago, choosing to spend his final years in peace.
For years, he had abstained from attending any corporate meetings.
Yet today, for the first time, he had come.
His mere presence sent a shockwave through the room.
It was not just Justin who was shocked. Neither Gregory nor Grant had been informed of his arrival.
