The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 492

Chapter 492

Over on Cordelia's end.

Upon seeing Ronan's message asking her to bring food, she found herself in a dilemma. If she refused

this time, it would make her seem insensitive and heartless.

Of course, she would have to bring food for both Ronan and Petra and also prepare some food for the

little one. After some thought, she cooked several dishes at home, prepared some food for the kid, and

even bought two fish from the cafeteria, packing everything neatly into lunch boxes.

Having settled the food, Cordelia remembered she hadn't asked Ronan where he was. [Where are

you? Let me know the location.]

As Cordelia was heading towards the school gate to hail a taxi, she decided to send the message to

both Ronan and Petra at the same time, in case one of them didn't respond and she wouldn't be able to

tell the driver the destination. Hence, she sent the message to both of them via Messenger.

Ronan was the one who sent her the address.

Petra didn't respond. Petra thought, “The child is now asleep, and it’s just her and Ronan in the

sickroom, which is great. If Cordelia comes, it will be the three of them, and inevitably, one of them

would become the third wheel, which would be awkward.

She sneaked a glance at Ronan's eyebrows and eyes, which were very attractive. He was looking at

his phone, texting. She wanted to keep looking at Ronan for a while longer.

"The kid's IV drip won't be finished until midnight," Petra said.

"It's okay, I'll be here," Ronan assured her.

"I'll be here." These three words greatly satisfied Petra.

But soon, Cordelia arrived, bringing food for the two of them. Sweat was visible on her face, probably Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

from running. Ronan's eyes lit up when he saw Cordelia, and he never took his eyes off her since.

"Petra, I sent you a message on Messenger, but you didn't reply. Fortunately, I was clever enough to

send it to both of you," Cordelia said as she put down the lunch boxes and went to check on the child's

condition.

Petra originally wanted to use the excuse that she didn't receive Cordelia's message to prevent her

from coming, but she came anyway.

This was the first time Cordelia met Jayson, the child. His features bore no resemblance to Ronan's,

and he was nothing like Callum. Callum was obviously a well-nourished child with a rosy complexion,

but this child seemed malnourished. He wasn't much younger than Callum, but he looked a size

smaller.

"Cold, so cold..." Jayson mumbled in his sleep.

"Don't be scared." Cordelia sat by Jayson’s side, gently patting him, and instinctively touching his

forehead.

Petra sat by the side, eating her food, not paying any attention to Cordelia and the child.

“Why does this child keep saying he’s cold?” A frown formed on Cordelia’s face.

Petra’s face changed slightly. “I don’t share a bed with him. He sleeps alone. Last night, I got up to

cover him with a blanket twice, but he probably kicked it off again.”

Cordelia looked at the child and felt sorry for him.

While Cordelia was comforting the child, Ronan was silently observing her. “You’re starting to act like a

mother,” he said.

“I’ve always been a mother,” Cordelia ignored Ronan’s taunt.

Petra felt uncomfortable seeing the two of them talking as if she wasn’t there.

“It’s been years since I’ve had a meal made by Ms. Haselwood,” Ronan started to tease Cordelia.

Cordelia knew that as long as he was around, she would have to endure his verbal teasing. Moreover,

he was calling her “Ms. Haselwood.” The title “Ms. Haselwood” had a sort of provocative and teasing

sound to it.

Ronan completely disregarded Petra.
