The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 275

Chapter 275

Deanna's attention was quick to shift, no longer clutching Samantha's hair as tightly as before. Only by

shifting Deanna's focus onto Cordelia was Samantha able to devote her time and energy to her career.

"What do I do?" Deanna became suddenly anxious, thinking that Cordelia had no chance with Ronan

anymore. Suddenly, her eyes shifted again, "If it's his, why doesn't he say something?"

"It's simple. He's afraid you'll try to harm Cordelia's baby! Ronan is protective of Cordelia." Samantha

was a master at stirring the pot.

Deanna grew more anxious, realizing that the baby meant an inevitable connection to Cordelia, with an

inheritance to consider in the future. Ronan was presently living with Cordelia even when they were

already divorced.

"Enough talk, what's the action plan? It's already been months, what can I do?" Deanna asked.

Poisoning or pushing Cordelia was out of the question, the consequences would be devastating and

criminal.

"Hurry up and get Cordelia and Jamie to tie the knot!" Samantha suggested, "I'll have my cousin talk to

Jamie's mom!"

"Will it work?" Deanna asked.

"I'll do my best!" Samantha said.

Before Cordelia got pregnant, Samantha's previous ideas had been met with resistance from Deanna.

This time, she learned her lesson. By involving more people, even if the plan failed, she wouldn't be to

blame. It could be Adrian's fault, or it could be Jamie's mom's. Samantha's goal was to keep Deanna's

attention on Cordelia so she could focus on her auditions in The High Society.

"I'm counting on you. Don't mess this up. If you do, I'll make sure every director and producer in

Millstone knows, and you'll have no roles to play. Then we'll see who's really powerful, you or me."

Deanna threatened, pointing at Samantha's forehead.

Deanna had agreed to let Samantha audition. She realized that even if Samantha did well, her roles

would be minor.

"Okay." Samantha agreed.

Samantha found Adrian, who had been devastated by Ronan. He had broken up with Kendra, lost his

child, and was left with nothing. His previous brashness was replaced by fear. He wouldn't dare go

against Ronan since he was already scared of him. But getting Cordelia and Jamie together was

Adrian's original intention. He was willing to give it a try.

Jamie was easier to manipulate than Ronan. And, Adrian knew that Jamie had recently been rejected

by Cordelia. Now was a good opportunity.

That evening, Adrian visited Jamie’s place. As a driver, he knew that Thomas wasn't home.

"Adrian, he's not home today. Maybe you could come back tomorrow?" Ava suggested.

"Oh, I'm not here to see Mr. Thomas, I'm here for you. About my sister's issue." Adrian replied. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

"Cordelia? Why bring her up again?" Ava was reluctant. The previous incident with the shirt had left a

sour taste in her mouth. After several conversations with Thomas reassuring her that the baby wasn't

Jamie's, she had been swayed.

But these past few days, Jamie had been locking himself in his room without speaking. She was

worried about her son. Despite her dislike for her future daughter-in-law, she still cared for her son.

"My sister's child is Jamie's, you know that, right? Cordelia told me herself. But Ronan forced her to go

back to him. Cordelia is unhappy, but Ronan thinks the child is his. She told me the other day she

misses Jamie. Mr. Thomas doesn't believe the child is Jamie’s because of his past with Ronan. But

ma'am, you need to know. Cordelia is pregnant with twins." Adrian said.

Ava furrowed her brows, wondering who to believe. "Alright, I understand. You can go. I'll ask Jamie

and decide what to do next." Ava responded.

From Adrian's perspective, he wanted Ava to bring Cordelia back. Ava thought, since Adrian was

Cordelia's brother, he wouldn't purposely put his sister in harm's way.
