The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 214

Chapter 214

"How much did they pay you? Why are you setting me up like this?" Olen had backed Shelley up

against a window.

"We're family. Calm down." Shelley said.

"Family?" Olen was taken aback, "Did Ronan marry your daughter?"

"Yes, he married my daughter." Shelley answered.

"No way. Are you satisfied only when the Evans family is ruined?" Ronan retorted.

Olen was getting closer and closer to Shelley.

Shelley was forced to lean against the window, its glass already broken from long neglect.

Suddenly, Shelley realized what was going on.

"My daughter isn't Kendra. It's Cordelia." Shelley said.

"Cordelia?" Olen was confused again, "Who's that? Who's Cordelia? Tell me!" All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

He roared at Shelley in anger.

Shelley was so frightened that she leaned back slightly.

Olen grabbed her collar, "It's you,! You're Shayla!"

Olen was fuming!

Earlier that afternoon, he was on his way back from a university lecture when he ran into Kendra.

Kendra told him, "Shelley is going to our old house this afternoon. The one where she killed Martin.

She probably wants to see what has happened to the Signature Estates that you built, and how it's now

deserted with weeds everywhere. She's not really Shelley. Her real name is Shayla."

Then Kendra laughed mockingly.

Kendra always had a bone to pick with Shelley. Not only was she stingy, but she also didn't care about

Adrian's affairs and blamed Kendra for egging Adrian to ask Ronan for money.

The best choice for a woman was to marry a man who owned a car and a house, and whose parents

were both dead.

Now, Adrian's father was dead, left with Shelley alone.

As for Shelley's fate, it all depended on this afternoon.

"What are you doing here?" Ronan's voice suddenly came from behind, "Let her go!"

Olen turned around, "I won't let go! She caused me to lose everything, and plunged the whole

neighborhood into a nightmare. I will never let her off."

With that, Olen gave a push and Shelley lost her balance, falling out of the window.

Ronan frowned and walked to the window to look down.

All he could see was Shelley's plummeting figure.

They were on the 18th floor; there was virtually no chance of survival.

"What have you done?" Ronan gritted his teeth and yelled at Olen.

"Did I kill someone? Is Shayla dead?" Olen was suddenly scared, "What should I do?"

"Get out of here! I'll handle this!" Ronan suppressed his anger and growled at Olen.

Like before, Olen was ready to flee when things went south.

"Leave here! Don't let anyone see you." Ronan yelled.

Cordelia had just arrived by taxi.

As she got off, she heard a loud noise next to her.

She turned her head and saw Shelley lying on the ground with her mouth full of blood.

Her mind went blank. There was a buzzing in her ears and she was frozen on the spot.

Then, she lifted her head and looked towards the 18th floor.

Shelley had told her before. Kendra's home was on the 18th floor.

There weren't many people living in this building, so she immediately saw a figure standing there.

Even though she couldn't see clearly, she knew in her heart it was Ronan.

It was Ronan, of all people.

He stood there. Cordelia felt like she didn't recognize him anymore. She wanted to throw up but

couldn't.

The distance between Cordelia and Ronan right then felt like the distance from Heaven to Hell.

Ronan was in Heaven, and he had pushed her mother into Hell.

Why would he do this? Why?

Cordelia's chest was heaving violently, she wanted to call out mom but the words were stuck in her

throat.

Then she passed out.
