The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 200

Chapter 200

When Amanda heard this, she didn't say anything, just quietly continued eating. Yet, Cordelia could tell

that she was hurting inside.

After dinner, Cordelia had Janice take some food to Ronan, then she and Amanda went to the grocery

store.

"Ronan used to eat roast turkey every Christmas, but he doesn't anymore, probably because he

doesn't want to see us," said Amanda.

"Don't be sad. I'm still here," Cordelia said, tightly holding Amanda's arm.

"Sweetie. If I had a daughter like you, that would be so nice," Amanda said, patting Cordelia's head.

Even though Olen and Amanda were back, Ronan wasn't happy. But Cordelia was thrilled. They were

both very kind to her, calling her Della.

As they left the grocery store, it started to drizzle. Thankfully, Cordelia had brought an umbrella. This

time, she and Amanda took a taxi.

When they got to the front door, she saw Ronan standing there. He was pacing back and forth at the

entrance, hands in his pockets, dressed lightly. He never liked using umbrellas. Cordelia hurriedly got

out of the car, held the umbrella over Ronan's head and said in a rush, "Why aren't you using an

umbrella? You're already sick."

"Let's go.” Ronan said, taking Cordelia's hand.

Amanda followed behind them silently, feeling awkward and upset.

When they got to the living room door, Cordelia heard noises from inside. "Who's in there?" she asked

Ronan.

"No one important," Ronan replied, holding Cordelia's hand tightly.

Entering the living room, Cordelia saw Jamie and Thomas sitting on the sofa, with Olen sitting on the

other side.

Thomas immediately stood up and said, "Mr. Evans."

Ronan gave a cold response.

"Mr. Colby, we've just arrived and didn't get a chance to tell you. Jamie is planning to transfer

PrimeNumbers Accounting to Brenda, probably by the end of the year. He's planning to move to

Canada," Thomas said.

"Hmm? You came to tell me this? I thought you were going to talk about Signature Estates," Ronan

said, his gaze fixed on Jamie.

Thomas's face darkened, "Well, I came to talk about Signature Estates, and I thought I'd mention Jamie

while I'm at it."

Jamie, however, was looking straight at Cordelia, with a smile in his eyes. "You're back?"

Before Cordelia could answer, she was pulled upstairs by Ronan. As they went up, Cordelia heard

Ronan mutter, "Sly fox."

Cordelia guessed he was referring to Thomas.

Cordelia suddenly remembered the documents Ronan had once shown her. Back then, Thomas, along NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

with other small real estate companies, ganged up to suppress Signature Estates, using a murder case

to cause Signature Estates’ property prices to plummet, making Olen go bankrupt overnight, turn gray-

haired, and suffer from severe mental illness.

Were they going to reconcile today?

Those who were once heartless towards Olen were now paying such respect to Ronan. Thus, Ronan's

status must be much higher than Olen's.

Cordelia suddenly understood Ronan's words. He didn’t make a scholar, but throughout these years,

he dealt with many troubles for Olen, and developed the business so well. Even though his eyes were

damaged, he never backed down. He truly was, as Milana said, a top businessman.

Olen, on the other hand, was like a scaredy-cat, fleeing abroad when he encountered difficulties.

Ronan didn't have a good impression of Olen. And Olen was afraid to see Ronan.

Thinking about the hardships Ronan had endured, Cordelia's eyes became a bit moist.

As soon as she closed the bedroom door, Cordelia pinned Ronan against it and started kissing him.

She didn't say anything, just kissed Ronan for a long, long time, even instinctively kissing his ear.

"Honey, I'm sorry." Cordelia wrapped her arms around Ronan's neck.

"Sorry for what?" Ronan asked Cordelia. There was a touch of gratification in his voice.

"I wasn't there for you during your hardest times." Cordelia said sincerely in the dark.

"Don't you know that you were already there for me?" Ronan said.

Cordelia thought for a moment, "Are you referring to when I helped you fetch water when you were

blind?" Cordelia asked tentatively, thinking Ronan didn't know. But after observing him a few times, it

seemed like Ronan knew everything. He was like a god in the sky, watching over Cordelia on the

ground.

"Yes," Ronan said, holding Cordelia tightly.

Cordelia chuckled, "So why do you like eating roast turkey? You've never told me."

"Can you make it?"

"I'm good at roasting turkey."

"Then make it for me for a lifetime. I don’t need any half-hearted promises," Ronan said.

Cordelia thought for a long time, then nodded seriously. Was he saying: no more divorces?

"So I'll start making roast turkey for you tomorrow, for a lifetime, okay?" Cordelia asked him.

"No lying."

"Okay. If I lie, my nose will grow long," Cordelia said.

She learned the saying that lying would make your nose grow from Ronan.
