The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 122

Chapter 122

At Lumos Plaza.

First off, Ronan took Cordelia to the women's clothing section. He had a unique taste, picking out

heaps of clothes from the racks and asking Cordelia to try them on.

He sat on a sofa waiting for Cordelia.

Cordelia hesitated, feeling a bit shy to try them on.

"What's up?" asked Ronan.

Cordelia lowered her head, whispering to Ronan, "I'm on my period. I'm afraid I might stain the

clothes."

"Really?" Ronan picked up some clothes, checked the sizes, and selected a few for Cordelia.

The clothes Ronan selected were simple yet elegant, made from high-quality materials. They weren't

particularly flashy in style, but when worn, they exuded a sense of utmost sophistication. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

If it were in the past, Cordelia might not have noticed these clothes.

Next, he took Cordelia to buy bags.

"I don't need a bag. I don't really like them." Cordelia waved her hand.

"Do you think I haven't embarrassed myself enough today? Even if I can bear it, I can't accept you

being like this. Go buy some more expensive bags than the one you had today." Ronan lightly patted

Cordelia's back.

Left with no choice, Cordelia browsed around, finally setting her eyes on a bag from Hermès. It was

made of canvas material, looked very similar to a laptop bag, and was rather low-key. The price was

okay, so she bought two, spending a total of eight thousand dollars.

Then Ronan took Cordelia to the men's section.

Ronan asked Cordelia to pick out ties for him; he needed ten for the evening. Although Cordelia felt a

bit dissatisfied, she still did as he asked, picking one tie after another, trying them on Ronan and finally

carefully selecting ten.

"Okay, go pay." Ronan said.

But he neither gave Cordelia money nor a card. "Me?" Cordelia was speechless. Ronan's ties were

over five hundred dollars each, so ten would be six thousand.

"Yes, you."

"Do I have to pay for my own clothes too?"

"Who else would pay for them?" Ronan stated as if it were obvious.

Cordelia thought to herself: Ronan wasn't usually stingy. What was going on today?

The total spending for the night exceeded fifty thousand. Cordelia unwillingly swiped her card.

When she left Ronan in the future and didn't have that much money left, she wondered if she'd feel bad

about it.

The last time Cordelia received a hundred grand from Ronan, she used it to hire a nurse for her mom

and pay for hospital bills. Just now, she spent over fifty grand , now only having a bit over twenty grand

left. The monthly cost of making shirts for Ronan was also shouldered by Cordelia. The little money left

was needed to pay for her mom's hospital bills.

Seeing her money dwindling, she suddenly felt anxious.

That night when they went to bed, Ronan kissed Cordelia again, making her feel hot and bothered. He

even helped massage Cordelia's stomach. Cordelia felt warm inside, she turned and hugged Ronan's

neck, "Honey."

"Miss me?" His lips were close to Cordelia's cheek, tickling her, but he didn't kiss her. It seemed like

unless Cordelia said what he wanted to hear, he would make her endure this endless teasing.

He was so cruel.

"I miss you, a lot." Cordelia said, hugging his warm body tightly.

Due to Cordelia’s condition, Ronan didn't ask her to make lunch the next day, and she slept in late.

Also, Ronan demanded that she wear the clothes she bought yesterday and carry the bag she bought

yesterday.

Cordelia understood his intention: he probably wanted the colleagues in the Finance Department to see

that the woman they questioned yesterday was now dressed in famous brands. All because she told

Ronan yesterday that she bought a fake bag with his money. So today, Ronan had her decked out in

genuine brands to teach her a lesson.

Sure enough, as soon as she arrived at the Finance Department, everyone's eyes were on her,

dressed in famous brands but extremely low-key.

"Her bag, it's Hermès..."

"The coat she's wearing, I saw it last time. It costs tens of thousands, but you can't tell just by looking."

"Mr. Evans is really generous. This must be a show for Mr. Jordan. Let's see his reaction later."

...

After Jordan arrived at the office, he even made a point to greet Cordelia.

Today, Manda didn't come to work. After yesterday's incident, Jordan fired Manda to protect himself. If

he didn't, he might have gotten into trouble with Mr. Evans.

Cordelia glanced at Manda's seat; she wasn't there. She thought that she needed to return Manda's

bag to her, otherwise it might cause unnecessary trouble. So she sent Jamie a message: "Mr. Colby,

are you free recently?"

"I'm out of town, I'll be back on Saturday. What's up?" Jamie replied.

"Well, are you free for lunch on Saturday? I'd like to treat you." She thought that asking Jamie to help

mediate this could cause him trouble. But if not, Manda might sue her out of spite.

"I'm free. I'll message you then." Jamie replied.

This was the first time Cordelia invited Jamie for a meal. He was very eager to rush back from out of

town right away.

At the same time, Jordan also received a call from Ronan: "Have Cordelia work in the Audit

Department starting Monday."

Jordan jumped off his chair in fright, "Okay, okay."

It seemed like Mr. Evans wanted Cordelia to show off her style in the Finance Department today, then

move on to the Audit Department in a more modest manner.

If she were to go to the Audit Department today, there might be such rumors going around: "She lost

her dignity in the Finance Department. She couldn't stand it anymore, so she fled to the Audit

Department."

Ronan was really thinking about Cordelia in all angles.
