Chapter 13
Chapter 13
That wasn’t a defense, but was throwing gasoline on a fire. Mrs. Bright snapped, red–faced and
furious. “You’ve got pregnant, and you dare to deny it?”
Aurelia cast a glance at Kelly, feeling increasingly that something was off
“I’m not pregnant. The nausea is a side effect of some medication. I’m single, and I’m still pure. So
where’s this supposed baby coming from?”
Kelly twisted her lips into a wry grin, “How about this? Do a split, bend over, and show Mrs. Bright
you’re not expecting. That should clear up the misunderstanding, don’t you think?”
Mrs. Bright nodded, “Good. Do it.”
Aurelia snickered, her gaze sliding from Mrs. Bright to Kelly’s face. She was either scheming something
or stirring the pot.
*Quick to accuse, eh? If I said you stole something and hid it on your person, should you strip to prove
your innocence?”
“You…” Kelly blushed.
Mrs. Bright was furious, “You trollop, you’ve definitely got something going on. I’ll make sure you lose it
today.”
She raised her hand, putting all her strength into a slap aimed at Aurelia.
Unexpectedly, her wrist was caught mid–air by a strong hand.
Leopold effortlessly tossed her aside like a rag, leaving her sprawled on the floor.
“What do you think this place is?”
Several onlookers, who had been peeking from behind walls, quickly retreated at the sight of the boss.
Kelly also made a hasty exit.
Mrs. Bright lay groaning on the floor, too frightened by Leopold’s icy aura to make another move.
“She seduced my husband. I have proof. You’re a manager, right? Are you going to do anything?”
“The picture is photoshopped. The woman in it isn’t me, and I have no connection to her husband.”
Aurelia quickly moved behind Leopold. His tall, sturdy figure felt like a shield, giving her a sudden
sense of safety.
Leopold instructed his assistant to get a technical analysis of the picture.
Soon, the result came out. The picture was indeed photoshopped.
Mrs. Bright, knowing that she was wrong, tried to escape, but Leopold stopped her at the door.
“Apologize to my employee!”
Mrs. Bright was no pushover. She sneered, “My husband is the CEO of the Bright Group. He won’t be
easily messed with.”
A cold light flickered in Leopold’s eyes.
He didn’t care about a small company, let alone anyone else.
“You can choose not to apologize. But in three days, I’ll make the Bright Group disappear from Elysium
City.”
Mrs. Bright trembled. Leopold’s overpowering aura had her cowed. Her legs and mouth felt weak.
“I’m… I’m sorry.”
Aurelia waved her off, “It’s okay. You were tricked. The real culprit is the person who photoshopped the
picture and framed me.”
Her words were meant for Leopold.
Leopold understood, of course.
After Mrs. Bright left, he called Aurelia into his office.
“Mr. Leopold, thank you for stepping in.”
Aurelia quickly expressed her gratitude. If he hadn’t intervened, things could have gotten ugly.
Leopold’s face was expressionless, as if he was wearing a mask of ice, “Don’t thank me. I didn’t do it
for you.”
“I know.”

Aurelia was very clear–headed. He had done it for the children in her belly, not her.
Leopold’s slender fingers tapped on the desk, his expression becoming serious, “I’ll give you a chance
to come clean. Was there anything between you and Mr. Bright?”
Aurelia blinked in confusion, “Of course not. You’ve already verified it, right? The photo was
photoshopped.”
Leopold’s fingers slid across the desk, pushing aside the photos and pulling out one, “This one is real.” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
