Chapter Twenty Six

Tracy

The doctor told me to wait outside while he checked up on Alex, I was allowed to go back inside when

he finished the check-up.

I was surprised to see Alex looking weird like he was sad about something, I rushed to his side worried.

"Alex are you okay? What did the doctor say?"

"Tracy"

"Tell me, what's wrong?"

"I'm a bad person right?" He asked looking at me

"What do you mean? tell me."

"You didn't tell me the twin were involved in an accident."

"Oh that, you scared me."

"Tracy"

"Well, they are fine now, yes they were involved in an accident but they are fine now and I'm thankful

for that."

"I'm sorry I made you take care of the kids alone, I'm sorry I left six years ago, nothing can excuse that

and I'm very sorry about it, I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry Tracy." He said holding my hands, he was

crying already, and seeing him cry made me cry too, I didn't know what to tell him.

"You should not be stressing yourself, lie down and rest," I said after few mins, I helped him lie down

"I love you, Tracy, I really do." He said as he closed his eyes to sleep hugging my hand to his chest, I

had to use my other hand to wipe the tears

I want to tell him I forgive him already, I want to move on already, but a part of me is holding me back,

making me ask myself questions, what if I forgive him and the same thing happens again?, If I forgive

him would that make me the pushover people think I am?, What about the lady he announced his

engagement with?.

Those things are holding me back, I would love it when we are together again but I'm too scared of

I thought about it for a while then I decided to take it one step at a time, I know I have to convince my

family that I know what I'm doing which I hope they'd understand.

There was a knock on the door then Tiana came in.

"Tiana?"

"Hey, Tracy."

"Hi," I said removing my hand gently from Alex's, I checked that he was still sleeping before I turned

back to face Tiana.

"You came earlier, you didn't have to come back."

"Oh, I wanted to come keep you company."

"Thank you, please sit," I said gesturing to the chair beside me and she sat down.

"How is he feeling?"

"Better"

"So he is Dee, isn't he?"

"Yeah"

"I see why you couldn't tell me now, when did he come back?."

"I don't know, I saw him on my first day at work, he is the CEO."

"Wow, now that is complicated, so have you guys talked about what happened?" Tiana asked and I

filled her in on everything, telling her how Alex tried but we always end up not concluding on anything, I

told her about my fears, I was glad I did, it felt good to share my fears with someone.

"You still love him don't you?" She asked looking at Alex

"To be sincere I never stopped loving him."

"You are planning on moving in like he asked ain't you?"

"Am I that predictable?" I asked surprised she knew what was on my mind

"Maybe, Tracy, I want you to know that this is your decision to make, whatever your decision is I'm right

behind you, just do whatever you want to, I'd keep praying that you make the right decision." She said

holding my hand

"Thank you very much, Tiana, I appreciate it."

"You are welcome, so when are you telling the children about him being their father?"

"Today, can you bring them after school?"

"Sure."

"Tell them I told you to bring them to me and daddy."

"Okay then, Tracy?"

"Yes?"

"I'd sincerely keep praying for you."

"Okay."

"Did you hear that Nora is coming back soon?"

"Really?, I thought her family moved to New York permanently 10 years ago," I said surprised, Nora is

someone that made my life hell for years, I don't want her coming anywhere close to me

"Yeah I thought she did too, I wanted to tell you before anyone else did."

"What does it matter, it is not like she is coming back because of me," I said shrugging, a part is scared

"True, let me get going."

"Oh okay thank you." I hugged her and thanked her before she left, Alex woke up an hour later.

"You are awake?"

"Yeah" he replied trying to sit up, I moved to his side and helped him sit carefully.

"Let's talk," I said sitting down too

"Okay, that sounds scary."

"I'm serious."

"Okay ma'am"

"So, I'm sorry my brothers beat you up like this."

"It's okay."

"I have considered what you requested last time, about me and the kids moving in with you, I've

decided we are moving in."

"Really?" He asked excitedly

"Yes really, but the thing about me forgiving you, it might take a while, I'm still trying to bring myself to

think about the whole thing and forgive you completely, so it might take a while for us to go back to how

we were, for now, our relationship can't be the way it used to be," I said and he held my hand

"Tracy, I am ready to wait, I'd gladly court you all over again, see I'm ready for it Tracy, I love you and

that is not changing, I'd wait until you are ready to forgive me completely."

"I guess we are good on that then, now, we can't move in immediately because of my parents, I still

have to talk to them about my decision."

"No problem."

"That's all I want to talk about."

"Thank you, Tracy."

"You are welcome, I have a surprise for you."

"Really?"

"Yes, but you'd have to wait for it."

"You shouldn't have told me about it yet then." He groaned and I couldn't help but chuckle.
