Chapter Thirty Three

Alex

Tracy brought the kids home later in the afternoon, but I noticed she was jumpy, she helped the kids

with their homework then she gave them their snacks when the kids finished their snacks, Tracy took

them to their room so they would nap, she came back to the sitting room minutes later holding two

small gift boxes.

"Alex"

"Yes?"

"We have to talk." She said sitting beside me.

"I'm listening." I said and she gave me her phone, I read the message she showed me.

"I'm sure it is."

"When did you get this?"

"This morning."

"Tracy!, Why didn't you tell me?"

"Keep your voice down please the kids are napping."

"Then tell me, why didn't you tell me?"

"I was scared and I didn't want to drag you into it, I said those things to her and I should face the

consequences alone."

"Tracy!, I know things are not that smooth between us right now, but I want you to know that there is

nothing like being alone between us, we are married!, And whatever is going on, we'll take care of it

together, you have a lot of people behind you and you have me beside you, okay?" I asked hoping she

got the message.

"Okay."

"Good."

"But Alex, there is more."

"There is more?" I asked hoping nothing bad has happened yet

"Yeah, when I was bringing the kids back home from school they brought these boxes out from their

bags, I asked them where they got this from, they said from aunty Nora."

"What?, How did she get into their school?!" I asked shocked.

"I don't know how."

"Wow, have you opened the box?" I asked and she shook her head

"We have to open this box, so we would know what is inside," I said trying to grab the box but she held

my hand.

"Alex, I'm scared."

"I know, but we have to know what is inside, I'd be careful," I said and she released my hand

I opened the box carefully, and what was inside was dark chocolate.

"Dark chocolate?, Open the other one," I said and she did, it was dark chocolate too.

"I don't get it, why would she give the kids dark chocolate?"

"Alex look." She said pulling a little paper out from the side

"What is on it?"

"It is going to be dark." She read and burst into tears

"Oh Tracy," I said moving closer to her and I hugged her

"Alex, I've put our kids in danger." She said crying harder.

"You didn't do it on purpose."

"Alex, Nora might come after our children."

"I won't let her get to them so stop crying." It took minutes before she stopped crying

"What are we going to do?" She asked sniffing

"First, I don't think the kids should go to school till we've gotten everything figured out, do you agree

with that?"

"Yes, I'd talk to their teacher."

"Good, I'd like it if you try not to go out too much."

"Okay."

"James would take care of security."

"Okay."

"We have foodstuffs to last us for a while right?" I asked and she nodded

"Good, I'd try to report this to the police."

"But we don't have any strong evidence against her."

"We don't need to say we are suspecting someone, the text you got and the chocolate boxes is enough

evidence."

"Oh okay then, I'd go with you." She said trying to stand but I pulled her back

"Not now, we would talk to James first."

"Okay then, would you call him now?"

"Yeah sure."

I called James and I told him to come as fast as he could because it is urgent, he came in a while later.

"What's up? I came as fast as I could." James said the moment he, entered.,

"Welcome, please sit," I said and James sat down, we told him everything and showed him the

message Nora got, we also showed him the chocolate box.

"Wow, why didn't you tell me about the lady yesterday?" He asked

"I didn't think it was a big deal," I said and he glared at me.

"I'm sure you see how big of a deal it is now." He said and I nodded

"So, what do you think?."

"First, don't let the kids go to school for now."

"Yeah, we've decided on that already."

"Good, once I leave here I'm going to the police station, I'll file a case already."

"Okay."

"You guys should stay indoor for now, I'd strengthen the security like I said yesterday, I'd probably

double it, and once I leave here I'd tell the security guards not to let anyone through the main gate

without telling you, everyone would also be searched before they are allowed inside."

"That's nice."

"Yeah Alex, let me talk to you for a minute," James said standing up and moving towards the door.

"I can go upstairs," Tracy said standing up

"Oh don't worry, I'm leaving already," James said and I nodded, I followed him out of the door before he

stopped.

"Man, I just want you to take care of Tracy, it is obvious she is blaming herself for everything, don't let

her think too much, you guys should just put your mind at rest, I'd take care of things for now.," He said

and I nodded

"Thanks, man," I said shaking him.

"Bye, let me get going." He said and he left, I went back inside and sat down beside Tracy.

"Tee."

"Yes?"

"Don't think about it too much."

"I'd try."

"Don't worry you know I'm here, nothing bad would happen by God's grace."

"Amen."

I laid on the chair and pulled her so she could lie beside me, I hugged her close to me, I could smell her

perfume and it was strangely comforting

"I have to start making dinner and the kids would wake up soon." She said but didn't make any move to

stand up.

"I know."

My phone rang and I groaned at having to stand up so I could remove my phone from my pocket but I

did anyway, I picked the phone and it was one of the guards.

"Sir, one Mr. Johnson is here, he said he is your father." The guard said and for a minute I panicked.
