Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Eve didn't want to stop him.
Even though her heart was shattered. Even though Roman had just shown her that she wasn't
good enough for him. This would always be only about sex. Just a stupid chemical reaction that she
didn't have the willpower to stop.
She knew all of this yet she was still drowning in the bastard's gorgeous eyes as he knelt in front of
her. He was doing that thing again where his eyes told her one thing when he clearly meant another.
His eyes made her feel as if she was the only woman in his life.
But that was a lie. He could have a million women like her tucked away anywhere in the world. And
he also had women like that blonde bombshell who he took out to be photographed with.
Still, one hand trailed down her leg while the other stayed where it was, continuing its magic and
making her buck against him.
She was shameless. She already knew that. Roman could do anything and she would still want
him. It wasn't just the alcohol talking, it was the way her body responded to him. It wasn't right. That
was why she had to get away from him. Forget her notice and just go. Being around him hurt too much
when he clearly didn't feel the same way.
But when Roman stopped what he was doing with his fingers she still protested.
"Shh. I've got you, Evelyn," Roman said.
His voice was deeper and strained like he was holding himself back. She knew he was. As much
as he did this to her, she knew she affected him the same way. It was why she'd thought she stood a
chance in the first place.
Both hands left a trail of fire on her skin as they slipped under the hem of her dress and gripped
the sides of her panties. And then they slowly lowered them. When he removed them completely, he
stuffed them in his pocket before he looked up at her again. She knew what he was going to do; her
body was already anticipating it. He lifted her leg onto his shoulder and exposed her completely but it
was still a shock when his lips met hers.
She steadied herself against the door with one hand while the other grabbed onto his hair.
Moments. Moments of his magic and she was already lost. Amid the onslaught of fingers, tongue
and lips, her body surrendered completely. She was still lost when she felt his hardness filling her up,
triggering another wave. His lips were on hers instantly, swallowing her cries and his own as she
tightened around him. Roman tensed just before she felt him start to twitch and his hot seed release
into her in bursts.
It was complete madness. It wasn't right to have so much control over someone's body. To be able
to push someone into this state without any effort, regardless of how they were feeling.
She was still trying to recover when Roman carried her over to the sofas and set her down. She
expected him to take the other sofa, to start putting some distance between them before he left her, but
she was surprised when he sat next to her and pulled her into his arms.
Like a real couple.
She could feel his heart beating as hard as hers. In his arms like this, he felt like Thursday's
Roman. The Roman who's sucked her in with the side of him that she craved for.
"That wasn't part of the plan. I'm sorry, I wasn't prepared."
Meaning he'd not used any protection. It wasn't the first time they'd done that but for some reason,
the fact that he hadn't taken any for his date with the blonde lightened her heart a little.
Which was stupid. Even if he hadn't meant to sleep with the blonde, he'd still gone out on a date.
She would never be okay with sharing him. And besides, the blonde woman could also be on birth
control and have regular checks, like Roman had her do.
Her heart squeezed again and she lifted herself away from him.
"I have to go. My friend will be looking for me," she said as she stood up.
She felt the breeze and the wetness between her legs and remembered she didn't have her
knickers on.
"Can I have them back?" she asked as she turned back to face him. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Instead of pulling them out of his pocket, he took his phone out like he hadn't heard her.
"Fine. Keep them," she said with a shake of her head as she turned to leave.
"I'm taking you home, Evelyn," Roman said as he stood.
"No, thanks. I can make my own way."
She was not going back to that house until she had to. She hadn't seen any cameras but how the
hell had he known that Brendan had come to the house before?
His eyes went cold as if he wasn't the same man who'd been on his knees begging to eat her out.
When his phone vibrated, he looked down at it and then smiled.
"Your friend has been put in a taxi, he's already gone," Roman said. "Now come on, because I
don't have all fucking day."
"Roman_"
"I'm not going to tell you again," Roman said through his teeth.
"Why are you still angry with me? I haven't done anything wrong. If anything, you're the one who's
broken your own rules because you've come to me on a Saturday. We never agreed to that."
"You want to go after your friend, that's fine. But I'm taking you home so you can read your damn
contract from beginning to end first. This is the only chance I will give you," Roman growled. "If you
choose to break the rules after that, then on your head be it."
What the hell was he talking about? What rules had she broken? She'd noticed the slight
discrepancy in the wording for when she had to be available for him, but she was sure the rules were
still the same.
Weren't they?
But he hadn't given her a chance to read the contract properly before she had signed it. And she
had known from his change of mood that she shouldn't have signed it.
What had he done? What had she done?
"The car is outside. Come."
Roman walked out of the room without looking back. With her mind reeling, she followed.
She had always known she was out of her depth with Roman but she felt it so acutely now. He had
taken advantage of her. She could feel it in her bones as she followed him at a distance through the
crowd and out of the club. She didn't even look around to see if her other friends were still around as
she walked out into the fresh air.
And Roman's driver, Phillip, who'd tricked her into going upstairs with him, stood holding the car
door open for her as it idled on the curb. He was always friendly so she hadn't expected to be
ambushed like that.
Did he do this for all of Roman's other girls?
She looked away from him and looked down the road. How far would she get if she just left? Went
home to her parents and hid away?
"Don't think about it, Miss Bright," Phillip said with a smile. "Get in the car, please."
Why the hell was he even smiling?
But he was right. She couldn't involve her parents in this, not when they were busy packing up to
move. She needed to go and read this contract.
She got into the car and didn't bother looking at Roman. For the first time since she had met him,
she was scared. What had she got herself into?
