Chapter 703

Chapter 703 Punishment From Cal

Avery and Cal were forcibly shoved into an unlicensed vehicle by the female assassin.

With the barrel of the gun pressed against her head, Avery felt her heart pounding so hard that it was as if it was about to leap out of her chest.

Yet, the little rascal in her arms was fearless, unafraid of anything in the world. He stared with his big, round, dark eyes at the female assassin, boldly making eye contact with her. He even made a funny face at her and curiously touched the gun in her hand.

“Little one, do you have a death wish?” The female assassin's expression was particularly fierce as she swiftly moved her gun to point at Cal's little head.

Avery firmly held Cal in her arms, pressing the little one's head against her chest, her expression particularly alarmed. “Don't harm my baby,” she pleaded. “He's still young. He doesn't understand anything. If you have any issues, come at me!”

She was puzzled as to why Cal was being so bold. The child was clearly very smart, always observant and perceptive. Why was he showing no sense of safety now?

These people were all cold-blooded killers. What if they were provoked and decided to strike?

Nevertheless, Cal struggled, lifting his head from Avery's embrace. His extremely handsome little face had a smile on it as he met the gaze of the female assassin.

The little one surprisingly spoke in fluent Remdikian with his childish voice. “Miss, you are so beautiful. Your skin is so lovely. I've been in Mocset for so long, but I've never seen a lady as beautiful as you. Are you an angel?”

The female assassin's heart bloomed with joy upon receiving Cal's compliment. Her fierce expression softened in an instant, and she couldn't help but touch her own cheek, asking, “Really?”

“Of course it's true, but you look too fierce. If you smile more often and show a kinder attitude toward Mommy, you'll look even more beautiful. If you keep being this fierce, no man will like you. My uncle once said—no man likes a woman who is always fierce...” Cal lectured the female assassin like an adult.

Despite being such a young child, still carrying the scent of milk, his mature demeanor was irresistibly amusing.

“Cal, what are you doing?”

Avery couldn't understand what her son was saying to the lady, but she was afraid that her son might provoke the woman. Annoyed, she tugged at his little ear. “These people are not good. You must not provoke them...”

The icy gaze of the female assassin suddenly shot toward Avery.

Avery immediately held Cal tightly, forcing herself to stay calm. “What do you want?”

The female assassin found herself agreeing with the child's logic. Even though her expression remained cold, her attitude toward Avery noticeably softened as she sneered, “Rest assured, I won't deal with you myself. I'll hand you over to Ms. Cassie later... Heh, you won't be so lucky by then though!”

With Cal's translation, Avery's unease only deepened.

Who was Cassie, and why was she after the mother and son?

On the gloomy, winding road, only three cars were on it. Suddenly, heavy rain began to fall from the sky.

As Avery gazed at the inexplicably familiar surroundings, waves of restlessness surged within her, one stronger than the last. That was because this was the very place where tragedy struck Cayden.

The air inside the vehicle was particularly stifling. Even Cal seemed to sense this unusually eerie atmosphere.

He nestled quietly and obediently into Avery's arms, no longer speaking.

A few inky-black crows swept through the forest, their cawing sounds only serving to increase one's irritation.

The female assassin's senses were sharper than most, and she naturally picked up on the unusual atmosphere. She switched on her wireless microphone and issued a command to everyone. “This is a danger zone—everyone, stay alert and be on your guard!”

No sooner had her words fallen than a fleet of black sedans suddenly appeared in front of the car, lining up in a row.

On such a rainy night, the sudden appearance of so many black sedans was eerily unsettling, inevitably arousing suspicion.

The female assassin noticeably tightened her grip on her gun. She glanced at the rearview mirror, noticing that the road behind them was also blocked by a row of sedans. They were completely surrounded, front and back, their escape route effectively cut off.

Rainy days were already annoying enough, and now, just as she was about to break free from this danger zone, her path was blocked. The female assassin was on the verge of cursing out loud.

Avery tightly held Cal in her arms, clueless about what was happening. However, her intuition told her that a fierce battle might be imminent.

She wouldn't mind if something happened to her, but she didn't want anything to happen to Cal.

The assassins reacted extremely quickly, firing at the cars without even waiting for the female assassin's command.

The intense sounds of gunfire echoed back and forth, filling the air. For a moment, howls of pain were everywhere, so intertwined that it was impossible to distinguish which side they were coming from.

Suddenly, two earth-shattering explosions rang out.

The two military vehicles trailing behind the female assassin's car were blasted into the air!

Chilling wails echoed incessantly, startling the birds into flight in the forest. A horrifying mist of blood sprayed onto the windshield of the car.

The sight of the flowing blood made Avery almost scream in shock. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

She tightly covered Cal's ears and eyes, shielding him from the gruesome sight of blood and gore.

Right then, she wished she could sprout wings and fly Cal to safety.

But such thoughts were somewhat pacified the moment she saw Taron emerging from the frontmost car, calming her previously anxious heart instantly.

The man stood tall and lean, his face handsome and profound. He looked prideful, his bright, icy blue eyes staring down at the remaining assassins as if they were nothing more than insignificant ants.

“Sh*t!” Upon seeing that the person who appeared was Taron, the female assassin spoke with bloodthirsty killing intent. “001, ram into him for me!”

At this moment, the female assassin was indeed feeling somewhat anxious.

She had underestimated Taron's power after all. Their mission was covert, their route constantly changing, but she hadn't expected Taron to pinpoint their location so quickly. Just how deep did this man's influence run? It was truly terrifying!

She roughly dragged Avery and her child out of the car, pressing the cold muzzle of the gun against their heads. She snarled menacingly at Taron, “Order your dogs to back off. Let my people go, or I'll kill them right here and now!”

Avery was trembling as she held Cal. She was about to whisper some comforting words when, unexpectedly, the unafraid Cal waved at Taron, saying, “Mr. Taron, you're late. As punishment, you have to be my horse and let me ride you tonight...”

“Sure!” Taron fondly smiled at Cal.

The man, getting soaked in the rain, strode steadily and gracefully toward Avery.

Behind him, a subordinate was holding an umbrella over his head, hastily following in his wake.

“Don't come any closer, or I swear I'll kill her right now...” The female assassin was clearly panicking. She hadn't expected Taron to be completely unfazed by her threat.

With a contemptuous glance, Taron ignored the female assassin. Such a minor character was hardly worth his time to converse with!

The female assassin panicked. Just as she was about to pull the trigger, a loud gunshot rang out. A lethal bullet suddenly pierced her skull. With her eyes wide open in a death stare, she collapsed

instantly.
