Chapter 2055
Thalassa's lips curved into a smile as she watched Lysander head into the bathroom, deciding not to continue their conversation.
It was a beautiful, sunny day, with a warmth in the air that made everything feel just right. After breakfast, Thalassa and Lysander set out. They thought leaving early would mean a smooth drive, with no traffic at all. Thalassa was feeling lucky they could get their marriage license done early, but when they arrived at the town hall, they found out it wasn't even open yet! It was too early; the staff hadn't arrived for work!
Thalassa's anticipation turned into a bit of disappointment, feeling slightly guilty for making Lysander wait with her. Just as she was about to say something to Lysander, he took her hand in his, leading her to the front door of the town hall.
Curious, Thalassa asked, "What are we doing standing here?"
Lysander replied as if it was the most obvious thing, "Queuing. We're the first in line, so we'll be the first to get served."
"Do we really need to queue?" Thalassa wondered.
Lysander glanced at her and explained, "People looking to get their marriage license line up out the door every day. If you come late, you might not even get served. Lucky for us, we're early, so we'll be first."
Thalassa's guilt washed away with his words, and she even felt a bit of joy. Her frown smoothed out, and a smile crept onto her face. Her hand was warmly enveloped in Lysander's; his palm was both warm and dry, comforting and heartwarming. Thalassa leaned on Lysander's shoulder as they stood in front of the town hall, waiting for it to open.
A few minutes later, another couple arrived, hand in hand, looking very much in love. Seeing the closed door, the woman, bubbly and friendly, asked with bright eyes, "Are you guys here to get your marriage license too?"

sound, while Lysander kept his gaze on the town hall, seemingly uninterested in anything else. Thalassa returned the smile politely, answering, "Yes, but the staff haven't arrived yet, so we have to wait a bit."
"Are you guys queuing then?" the woman asked again.
Thalassa nodded, "Yes."
"Then we'll queue behind you," the woman said, smiling as she took her boyfriend's hand, standing behind Thalassa and Lysander.
Lysander then turned, gently tucking a stray hair behind Thalassa's ear, his face filled with affection. The woman caught a glimpse of Lysander's profile and couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh my, he's so handsome!"
Her outburst, uncontrollable and admiring, drew Thalassa's gaze and her boyfriend's displeasure. "Isn't your fiancé handsome? Why compliment another man?" the boyfriend grumbled jealously.
"Oh, come on, I was just making an observation. Don't be mad. After all, we're getting married, and you're the only one for me," the woman quickly tried to soothe him, realizing her comment was a bit inappropriate. She then apologetically smiled at Thalassa, adding, "Sorry about that, couldn't help myself. Best wishes to you both. You're such a stunning couple, truly meant for each other. Both of you are just so easy on the eyes."
Thalassa wasn't offended; after all, Lysander was indeed handsome, and who wouldn't comment on that? Her smile brightened, accepting the woman's good wishes, "Thank you, and the same to you. May you have a lifetime of happiness together."
