The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2046

Thalassa didn't glance back; she merely hesitated for a moment before continuing on her way. She knew better than to trust Isabella's words. Falling for her tricks only brought trouble.

Seeing Thalassa ignore her completely, Isabella's frustration boiled over. "Thalassa, I know you don't believe me, but why don't you do a little digging? Ask Lysander himself if there's a Harper in his life!" Isabella yelled after her, but the only response was Thalassa's retreating figure becoming smaller in the distance.

Lydia, having had enough, approached with a scowl. "Get out of here, will you? I'm about to lock up!"

Isabella shot Lydia a venomous look before storming off, her heels clicking angrily against the pavement.

By the time Thalassa returned to Starhaven, the sun was already beginning to set. She didn't rush back to Royal Estates; knowing Lysander, he wasn't home yet anyway. Sitting in her car with the window rolled down, a breeze carried the scent of spring and an unexpected wave of melancholy. Passing a flower shop, Thalassa had the driver stop. She picked out a bouquet and then instructed him to drive to the cemetery. Seeing Isabella had dredged up a tsunami of memories, leaving her feeling blocked and heavy-hearted. She needed to visit Leopold.

At Leopold's grave, she placed the bright yellow daisies by his headstone, staring at the photo that captured his youthful essence. Thalassa couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow. She had always hoped, against all odds, for Leopold's happiness, even knowing their future together was nonexistent.

"Leopold, do you bless me?" Thalassa whispered, her voice tinged with pain, addressing the picture on the headstone.

"Sorry, sis, I missed my chance with Lysander," a voice suddenly broke the silence of the cemetery.

Thalassa turned towards the sound

and saw a slender woman, kneeling in front of a grave, her demeanor scholarly and elegant. It was Rosalind! Rosalind was at a grave two plots away from Leopold's. Thalassa had been so focused on her own grief she hadn't noticed her earlier.

As their eyes met, Rosalind's sorrowful expression quickly hardened into hostility.

"You here to stir up old memories?"

Rosalind stood, confronting

Thalassa with a cold tone. Then, catching sight of the photo on Leopold's headstone, she let out a

laugh. "Came to visit an old

flame, did you? Does Lysander know about your little secret rendezvous?"

Rumors of Thalassa's past relationships were no secret to Rosalind, who had hoped to use this knowledge to her advantage. Yet, in the end, she realized she hadn'ost to Thalassa; she had lost toExclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Lysander's love for her.

Ignoring Rosalind's barbed words, Thalassa remembered that despite their differences, they shared the same father, making them sisters, not enemies. She had never intended to make an enemy of Rosalind.
