A tense night
Sofie’s POV
I giggled to myself as I read through some memes on the internet while trying to free my mind from the thought of Roman and I sharing a bed tonight.
It wasn’t supposed to be a big deal because we had both seen each other’s nakedness the night before, and we had also fucked like rabbits in heat.
So, why was the thought making me restless?
I didn’t even know how I was supposed to act around Roman now.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s just sleeping together on the same bed, Sofie. Nothing else could possibly happen between the both of you. It’ll be fine. Put your mind at rest.” I chanted like a mantra to myself as I dropped my phone on the bed and got out of bed.
Roman had even included it in the contract that we were only going to be affectionate when it was needed, and I knew he’d definitely not go back on his words and before I knew it, the hundred days would be over and we’d be out of each other’s lives. I reassured myself with a satisfied nod as I paced around the room.
Then, there was a knock on the door.
I halted. “Who is there?”
“Madam. it’s me, Melissa.”
That darn madam. I could never get used to the formalities that came with being Roman’s fake fiancée.
“Come in.” I said, and Melissa walked in struggling with some bags in her hold.
I quickly went over to help offload some from her hand but she shook her head firmly before placing the bags on the bed.
“The young master’s assistant just delivered these. They are clothes for you.” She enlightened me as she gestured to the bags and I nodded.
“Oh. Alright thanks.”
“Madam. Food is also ready. Would you like me to dish out the food or would you prefer to do it yourself?” She asked, bowing slightly.
“Please stop bowing to me and you can just call me Miss Sofie when he is not around.” I muttered, to which Melissa gasped with her eyes gaped in shock.
“Madam, that’s absurd. I’m sorry but I can’t do so. The young master won’t take it lightly with me if I do so.” Melissa countered and I just sighed, already tired.
You can’t be tired, Sofie. You are not even a day into this assignment. Roman had kept to his end of the deal, now it’s time for you to do the same thing without qualms. A voice within my head chided.
“You don’t have to serve me or anything, I’ll be fine by myself. Thanks, Melissa.”
“Very well, Madam. I have to go get some groceries now. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to call Natalie or the butler. I will be on my way now.” She bowed before exiting the room.
I sighed again as I peeled off my clothes, and dragged myself to the adjoining bathroom with something akin to excitement sizzling within me.
I was excited to take a shower in the same place where Roman must have surely taken tons of showers.
I tried to imagine Roman, naked in all his full glory, muscles shining, and flexing under the drizzling shower, his fingers raking through his hair and his other hand scrubbing water off his face.
My envisioning was hot as fuck.
I forcefully plunged the wanton thoughts into the furthest part of my mind as the water cascaded down my body.
I couldn’t have unchaste thoughts about Roman. It was immoral to do so, and even though it made me feel like a nymphomaniac, I just couldn’t stop the thoughts.
After, I got out of the bathroom, and picked an outfit from the literal truckload of clothes that Roman had made his assistant ship over.
It was something comfortable: a pair of navy sweatpants with a baggy T-shirt of the same colour to match.
I tossed my auburn tresses into a bun, patted the sides of my hair satisfactorily as I smiled at my reflection in the mirror.
“Madam, you are finally here.” Natalie smiled patronizingly at me as I walked down the stairs.
I returned her smile warmly and sat down. An amazed gasp escaped my throat when I took in the mouthwatering display of various appetizing meals.
A literal feast had been set on the table.
“Am I the only one that will eat all these?” I blurted out, angling my neck to face Natalie who was standing behind me.
She smiled, “Yes, Madam. And if by any chance, you don’t find something that’s up to your taste here, please let me know so that I can make something else for you,”
I shook my head, “What do you mean? I’m okay with everything here. They look perfect and I’m sure they’d also taste delicious.”
“I’m flattered by your words, Madam.”
I swallowed hungrily as I picked a spoon and dished a generous amount of rice, chicken roast, buffalo stew and some coleslaw on my plate.
I grinned sheepishly at Natalie who grinned back before digging into the food.
I was right. The food tasted like heaven.
“You are a great cook, Natalie.”
“Thanks for the compliment, Madam.”
I soon scarfed the whole food down in a matter of minutes before reclining against the dining chair and patting my full belly with a satisfied grin.
I waited there for a while before I headed back to the room where I couped myself in, reading a book I found on the nightstand.
That was how Roman met me when he got back from work.
“Y-You are back.” I squeaked as I dropped the book on the bed, and stood clumsily in the middle of the room.
“Yes.”
“How was work?” I asked, desperately trying to act natural but woefully failing.
Roman huffed, looking me up and down, “So-so.”
The tension between us was extremely awkward that I was literally freaking out inwardly as I watched him loosen his tie, and unbutton his shirt before he went to the bathroom.
I had planned to take a shower before bed but I quickly decided against it when Roman stepped out of the bathroom, buttoning his pajamas with his rock hard abdominal muscles on display.
I swiftly looked away before he could see my reddening face.
It didn’t help matters when the bed dipped with his added weight, and his natural masculine scent seeped into my nostrils.
I felt a tear run down my legs that instant.
“Do you sleep with the lights on?” His husky voice reverberated through my chest.
“No,” I said, without stuttering.
Thankfully.
He clapped his hands, and the room went dark safe for the dim amber light that the night lamp provided.
I hugged myself, and faced the other side with my heart slamming violently against my ribs before sleep finally overpowered me.
